    Whatever happens from here in this match, it has been a sterling effort from Alastair Gray.

    Even at 6-1 down in the tie-break he wouldn't give up, and had it not been for one poor game he would have had this second set in the bag some time ago.

    Fine margins, and Taylor Fritz certainly raised his level when he needed to, but regardless of the eventual outcome it's been a fine showing from the British world number 288.

    Instead, it is the name of Ashleigh Barty which will forever be preserved in letraset.
