    *Gray 3-6 5-5 Fritz

That's three games on the bounce for Taylor Fritz who has gone from 5-2 down to 5-5 in the second set.

If Fritz wins today he will have matched his best run at Wimbledon, which came last year before he lost to Alexander Zverev in round three.

After Harmony Tan stunned Serena Williams and then pulled out of the women's doubles with Tamara Korpatsch, the German took to social media to complain.

But all's well that ends well and it looks like everything is all sorted.

    “Oh, no, no.”

A couple of loose hits from Alastair Gray at the worst possible moment. He can’t believe it.

“Relax!” Is the wisdom from the crowd.

Two break points to survive. A double fault. Ouch. He needs to dismiss that disappointment from his mind quickly.

“Come on Alastair!” shout the crowd, as Gray returns to the court hoping the next time he takes his seat he’ll have levelled the match.

“Go on son!” calls someone else as the Briton scampers after a ball across his baseline, but that’s a very nice hold from Taylor Fritz.

    Huge game coming up here!

    Gray 3-6 5-2 Fritz*

That's twice now in this set where Alastair Gray has fought back from 0-30 on his serve to take the game. That means he is just one game away from winning the second set.

There's still a long, long way to go but maybe, just maybe, this could be a career-changing day for the British world number 288.

Kyle Utterson: Gray has been brilliant so far. Unlucky in the 1st set and played some superb positive tennis in the 2nd set. The beauty of Wimbledon, who would have thought we would be talking about Gray and not Raducanu or Murray?

    *Gray 3-6 4-2 Fritz

A pretty straight-forward hold from Fritz, to 15, sealing it with his fourth ace of the match. But it's the Brit who has the advantage in this set with the break of serve.

Alastair Gray composes himself at 15-30 on the Taylor Fritz serve…

A superb volley at the net! Yes! Gray at last is able to seize an opportunity to take charge of the second set. Brilliant stuff.

An air of anticipation is building on court 12 as the Briton consolidates.

What an effort this has been so far from Alastair Gray. He had six break-point chances in the first set and couldn't take them, but now he's converted one in the second and he is a break up against 11th seed Taylor Fritz in the second set.

This is the biggest day of Gray's career and he's showing a lot of talent in his big opportunity.

Gray wasn't on the radar at all and then he won the nationals, and like Ryan Peniston went out to the States, out to college and it is has really made the world of difference.

Where once people maybe would have gone to Europe and the clay, the US gives you much more.

    Gray 3-6 2-1 Fritz*

    Harry Poole

Frustration for Alastair Gray as six break point opportunities passed him by in that opening set, but the Briton will take plenty of encouragement from his start against, in ranking terms at least, a vastly superior opponent.

The crowd are certainly liking what they see.

There was a big grin from Taylor Fritz as Gray recovered from a slip to tap over a drop shot on his way to fighting back from 0-30 down in the first game of set two. The American knows he’s going to have to work hard for this.
