    Tan 6-1 3-1 Boulter*

Harmony Tan sends a return over the baseline and the crowd erupts in support of Katie Boulter. They are then deathly quiet as the next point goes Tan's way.

Boulter then looks a bit bewildered as she bangs a backhand into the net, before Tan goes wide with a backhand that looked out from the moment it left her racquet.

Boulter takes the game to deuce with a pacey forehand into the corner after sending her opponent the wrong way, but Tan is able to seal the hold.

Harmony Tan continues to play Katie Boulter all over the court, side-to-side along the baseline before she returns wide. Tan then goes 30-0 up with a backhand that Boulter doesn't even attempt to meet.

That's soon 40-0, and then a hold to love with more unforced errors from the Brit on the other side of the net,

It's not the best start, though, as Katie Boulter quickly slips to 0-30 down.

A Harmony Tan return is called out, but the Frenchwoman challenges it - and was correct to do so. Her forehand just nipped the line and she has three break points straightaway in this second set.

She only needs one, as Boulter pushes wide.

Katie Boulter really needs this, she needs to dismiss that set. It's gone, she needs to go for it now and win this game.

Well, that was pretty impressive from Harmony Tan, charging through that opening set in 26 minutes.

The French player has made just three unforced errors so far. She's been rock solid.

The crowd let Katie Boulter know they're right behind her as she steps back out to try and turn this match around.

Katie Boulter made 11 unforced errors in that opening set, compared to Harmony Tan's three.

A big improvement needed in this second set if she is to make it to the second week of Wimbledon.

A very encouraging applause as she sprints out from her chair to serve.

    Tan 6-1 Boulter*

Harmony Tan has the perfect response to everything Katie Boulter tries to do. The Frenchwoman looks so comfortable here.

She plants an ace down the middle for her first of the day, her fourth of the tournament, for 30-0, but a half-hit backhanded return fails to clear the net to allow Boulter a glimmer of hope in this game.

Another ace gifts Tan two set points, but she only needs one - and it's another ace! Three in one game to wrap up the set. Crikey.

There's a low groan from the crowd as Katie Boulter finds the net from close range on her opening service point. She then concedes a second point as Tan moves well into the middle and sends the ball in the opposite direction to her British opponent.

Tan soon has three break points but Boulter is able to prevent a break to love. She can't stop the break on the second opportunity.

You have to be quick if you play like Harmony Tan, there will be some big hitting players. If she can cope with Serena Williams smacking the ball down at her and get those back then she's very quick it she's also a great anticipator of tennis. She can almost set off before her opponent has hit the ball.

A lovely rally gets us under way but ends as Boulter crashes a backhand into the net, before sending a lob a touch too wide.

Tan misses what looks to be an easy return at the net, touching it too low, but she responds by launching a stunning backhand down the line.

    Tan holds.

More spectators piled in at the change of ends, ready to try and lift Katie Boulter here after a tough start.

The crowd respond well to a couple of good serves - and a lovely confidence-boosting forehand into the corner - but the biggest cheer of the match so far follows that winner which gets her over the line, and on the board. Huge hold.

Katie Boulter is struggling to play her own game at the moment, conceding the first point with an overhit rebound off the racket before sending a backhand over the baseline. But there's a big, encouraging applause from the crowd as she earns a point back, and then a second as it's Tan's turn to fire long. 30-30.

Boulter is able to find her angles, a cracking forehand into the corner her best strike of the day so far but then takes the game to deuce after failing to clear the net. Tan earns the advantage and break point as a Boulter return meets the middle of the tramlines, but misses her chance.

Boulter roars as she wins the next advantage, and she holds with a fantastic forehand to get herself on the scoreboard. That was an important game to win.

    Tan 3-0 Boulter*

It's Katie Boulter's turn to benefit from the net cord as she levels with Harmony Tan at 15-15, but Tan demonstrates some great play in the middle to extend her lead, before Boulter can't return her serve. She holds as Boulter goes wide.

Tan looks very composed and settled here already, but Boulter's got it all to do if she's to claw her way back into this opening set.

    *Tan 2-0 Boulter

A fist-pump from Katie Boulter as the first point on her serve goes her way as Harmony Tan fires wide, but she can't back that up, committing a double-fault before she needs an early change of racquet.

Perhaps a few early nerves for Boulter, and it looks to be a tad breezy on court too. Tan brings up two break points with a helping hand from the net cord, the ball clipping the top and plopping down on the other side of the net. Boulter is able to fend off the first break point by coming into the net, but not the second as she misjudges the flight of a lob.

    Early break for Harmony Tan.
