  2. 'The nerves are jangling' - Norrie's dadpublished at 15:04 British Summer Time 8 July 2022

    Djokovic v Norrie

Norrie's dad David told BBC Sport: "The nerves are jangling a bit.

"We're immensely proud that he's got this far. I think it's going to be a tough watch. We did see him this morning over coffee.

"He feels relaxed, looks relaxed. I think he knows he's got a task ahead of him but let's see, I don't think he's got a lot to lose.

"He knows we're all behind him - it's very muich let him get on with the job in hand."

David said he's feeling "a whole mixture of things", adding: "Pride for sure, happy that we're here, that he's got his family and friends here to see him in what has been his best Slam in every sense.

"We're happy we're here and we just wish him all the best to play as best he can."

    Djokovic v Norrie

Born in Johannesburg, Norrie moved to Auckland as a child and went to university in Texas but has since made his home in London.

His mother Helen is Welsh and his father David is Scottish, with both still living in New Zealand.

Having missed some of Norrie's matches in the past as he travelled around the world, the pair have been following their son since May.

"I'm glad they picked this one to come to," he said. "They timed it right."

  5. Game and second set - Hewettpublished at 14:59 British Summer Time 8 July 2022

    Fernandez 6-2 6-7 (3-7) Hewett

    What a fightback.

A Fernandez forehand return goes inches long as Alfie Hewett takes the first of his three set points to bring this wheelchair singles semi-final level.

All the momentum appears to be with the Brit.

  6. Nadal withdraws, Kyrgios in finalpublished at 14:58 British Summer Time 8 July 2022

In case you missed it yesterday (where were you?!) there will only be one men's semi-final today after Rafael Nadal withdrew from the tournament with an abdominal injury.

That means Nick Kyrgios has advanced straight to Sunday's final and will face the winner of Djokovic v Norrie.

Nadal said he was "very sad" but "it doesn't make sense to play".

    Fernandez 6-2 6-6 (3-6) Hewett*

Brilliant from Alfie Hewett, deep approach which Fernandez somehow recovers, then a forehand back from whence it came from the Brit.

And a mega forehand winner from the back of the court - three set points for Hewett! He was 5-1 down in this set - and looked down and out.

  8. Djokovic v Norrie head-to-headpublished at 14:56 British Summer Time 8 July 2022

    Djokovic v Norrie

The conclusion of the doubles means we'll soon have Cameron Norrie and Novak Djokovic on court.

Novak Djokovic has certainly been there and done it all before when it comes to the business end of major tournaments.

The Serb has a career record of 1010-204 since turning professional in 2003, compared to Cameron Norrie's record of 135-100 since turning pro five years ago.

In that time, Djokovic has won 87 titles and around £130m in prize money, while Norrie's winnings come to around £5.3m.

    Krejcikova/Siniakova 6-2 6-2 Kichenok/Ostapenko

A dominant display by Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova.

The 2018 winners are back in the Wimbledon final as they dismiss Lyudmyla Kichenok and Jelena Ostapenko 6-2 6-2.

The Olympic champions will meet top seeds Elise Mertens and Zhang Shuai or Desirae Krawczyk and Danielle Collins in the final.

    *Fernandez 6-2 6-6 (2-3) Hewett

Classy backhand from Alfie Hewett brings the breaker level but Fernandez drills a return down the line for a mini-break.

Hewett replies in kind with another stunning backhand winner. And then another mini-break as the Argentine nets from the Brit's solid return. 3-2 Hewett.

  11. 'A lot riding on this for Novak'published at 14:53 British Summer Time 8 July 2022

    Djokovic v Norrie

    John McEnroe
Three-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC TV

Under current rules Novak Djokovic is not allowed into the United States unless he has a Covid-19 vaccine, meaning he would miss the US Open later this year.

There’s a lot riding on this for Novak. Right now he can’t go to the States. If you don’t think it’s important for him to win this, you’re out of your mind.

Norrie is going to have to be at his best level and play better than he’s ever played in his life in order to beat Novak.

  12. Krejcikova and Siniakova serving for the matchpublished at 14:52 British Summer Time 8 July 2022

    *Krejcikova/Siniakova 6-2 5-2 Kichenok/Ostapenko

Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova are on the verge of a second Wimbledon final.

The four-time Grand Slam doubles winners, just as they did in the opening set, have broken clear in set two and their third break of the set moves them 5-2 up.

The Czech pair will serve for the match next.

  13. Tie-breakpublished at 14:52 British Summer Time 8 July 2022

    *Fernandez 6-2 6-6 (1-0) Hewett

A huge return off the Hewett second serve earns Fernandez the break-back.

We're into a tie-break. First to seven points.

Hewett dumps a return into the net and trails 1-0.

  14. Postpublished at 14:50 British Summer Time 8 July 2022

    Fernandez 6-2 5-6 Hewett*

A good response from Gustavo Fernandez, who goes 0-30 up on the Hewett serve helped by a return with a serious amount of spin that the Brit could not get back.

A wonderful backhand down the line gets Hewett on the board in the game but he nets the next point and it's two break points for the Argentine to send us into a tie-break on Court One.

  16. Hewett breaks again, serves for setpublished at 14:47 British Summer Time 8 July 2022

    Fernandez 6-2 5-6 Hewett*

Fernandez saves one break point but two sublime returns from Alfie Hewett are simply too good.

Five games on the spin for the Brit who will now try to serve us into a third and deciding set.

  17. 'One of the tougher tasks in tennis' - Norriepublished at 14:46 British Summer Time 8 July 2022

    Djokovic v Norrie

"I would say one of the tougher tasks in tennis."

With the doubles on Centre Court looking like it might be nearing its end, Cam Norrie could be out soon.

He described his semi-final against Novak Djokovic as "one of the tougher tasks in tennis" and it's easy to see why.

Norrie had never made it past the third round of a Grand Slam before this year's Wimbledon.

Djokovic, on the other hand, has 20 major titles to his name, with six of those coming at SW19.

As if that weren't enough, the 35-year-old has not been defeated at Wimbledon since 2017. Yep, sounds pretty tough to us.

  18. Krejcikova and Siniakova break backpublished at 14:45 British Summer Time 8 July 2022

    *Krejcikova/Siniakova 6-2 3-2 Kichenok/Ostapenko

Lyudmyla Kichenok and Jelena Ostapenko respond to falling a break down in the second set with a break of their own - but they're unable to consolidate.

Once again, Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova are in control on Centre Court, breaking back for a 3-2 lead.

    Is that the knockout blow?

    *Fernandez 6-2 5-5 Hewett

    Peter Norfolk
Seven-time Grand Slam winner on BBC TV

Alfie Hewett is putting pressure on Gustavo Fernandez, he's playing a bit deeper and making Fernandez play which he just wasn't doing in the previous set.

  20. Postpublished at 14:45 British Summer Time 8 July 2022

    *Fernandez 6-2 5-5 Hewett

Alfie Hewett lets out a huge roar after Gustavo Fernandez goes long, and it's 15-30.

A fine Fernandez volley gets it back to 30-30 though, with Hewett reaching it but just unable to get it back over as it hits the top of the net.

Double fault, though! 30-40, another break point for Hewett...
