There's no question that Gustavo Fernandez is making mistakes he simply was not making for the first set and a half.

A couple of errant forehands and a couple of Alfie Hewett aces. The Brit holds - he's fought back from 5-1 down to 5-5 in this second set. Fantastic fightback.

Fine margins - how big could this be?

At 40-30, Hewett sends a serve right down the T. It's called out but he challenges and Hawk Eye shows it caught the line.

The Argentine will still have the chance to serve out the match, though, for a place in the final.

    Fernandez 6-2 5-2 Hewett*

A great recovery from Alfie Hewett who was moving the wrong way from Fernandez's return on the opening point.

The Argentine hits a forehand wide - and seems to have done the same in the next point but he challenges and it just kissed the baseline chalk right in the corner.

Hewett though comes back with a good serve and then wins a long rally - 40-15 as he bids to hold serve for the first time this set.

    Krejcikova/Siniakova 6-2 0-0 Kichenok/Ostapenko*

That's some finish by Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova to take the first set!

It's now six games in a row for the Czech second seeds on Centre Court, as they race clear of Lyudmyla Kichenok and Jeļena Ostapenko after a scrappy start to take charge of the match.

    Fernandez 6-2 4-1 Hewett*

Hewett's umpteenth double fault yields another break point for Fernandez and it seems sure he'll convert with a deep approach.

But Hewett somehow gets it back and forces the error into the net.

Now, an ace and advantage Hewett. But then a big Fernandez return. Deuce again.

    Fernandez 6-2 4-1 Hewett*

You can feel the Court One crowd willing Alfie Hewett on here, even in the silent moments.

But Fernandez has been so strong on return. He's recovered from 40-15 to take Hewett to deuce. Big moments in this match. If the Argentine breaks here, it's surely over.

Alfie Hewett is flustered - he needs to calm down and look what he did in that game. That was the game where he finally took it to Gustavo Fernandez. He was nearer to the baseline and taking the ball quicker and earlier.

He has the speed to rally so he's not outclassed by any means on normal terms - if he holds here the scoreboard will look a lot better.

    Fernandez 6-2 4-1 Hewett*

A backhand return down the line converts the second of those three break points.

Alfie Hewett really went for his shots in that game.

But he really needs to up his service game to have a chance of turning this around.

Three break points for Alfie Hewett.

Gustavo Fernandez's chair topples over as he just about reaches a Hewett forehand and he cannot rescue the winner from the Brit.
