    Djokovic 2-3 Norrie*

Not to get ahead of ourselves, but if Norrie can hold serve here he'll be two games away from taking the first set. Against Novak Djokovic. In a Wimbledon semi-final.

Unfortunately Djokovic hits a volley into the open court to go 15-0 up. But Norrie responds by getting Djokovic off balance at the back of the court before banging down a forehand winner for 15-15.

There seems like there's a breeze down the court on the right of the umpire's chair and Cam Norrie is able to stay patient in the rallies and it's the umpire's left where the breaks have come from.

It's a great start from Norrie - I was concerned and nervous about the opening stages but there's promising signs. Djokovic hasn't quite settled.

    Another one!

This is not the cool-headed Djokovic we're used to.

Norrie batters him with powerful shots and the top seed hits the ball long to give the Brit another break.

Now to see if Norrie can back it up this time.

The crowd holds its breath as Norrie looks like he's winding up for a huge backhand.

It's a bit too big though and lands long to put Djokovic 30-15 up.

The defending champion slices a backhand into the net and that's 30-30. A chance here?

I thought I'd go and watch Norrie from The Hill, maybe have a nice iced coffee, take in the atmosphere.

Not a chance. It is absolutely packed, people as far as you can see, desperate to cheer on the last Brit standing at Wimbledon. It's closed off for now, with security redirecting people to Court Two where they will be able to watch.

These rallies are getting longer and longer now. Whichever way this match goes, it will be a huge test of fitness for both players.

Norrie blinks first as his backhand goes long to make it 15-30.

Then the Brit hooks an excellent backhand in the corner and Djokovic can't land his return in the court. 30-30.

He eventually seals the hold with a superb serve.

The celebratory finger to the air from Novak Djokovic says it all.

A thrilling first point of the fourth game has it all: power, lobs, 'tweeners, deft touches.

Centre Court turned into Hyde Park for a moment.

Screams and cheers like Mick Jagger had just walked out on to stage.

Everyone is getting satisfaction from this fun, but nervy, start.

    What a point!

Incredible running from Cam Norrie means he gets to what looks like it should have been a winning drop-shot from Djokovic.

Norrie lobs his opponent, but Djokovic gets on that too and eventually does manage to finish off the point with a drop-shot.

All that and it's only 0-15 on Norrie's serve.

Cam Norrie and his coach Facundo Lugones spoke to the BBC ahead of this match.

Lugones: "We are are similar in the way we go about things but he's way more competitive than me and I'm more patient than him so it's a good combination. His forehand is the most improved shot - I always thought it could be more aggressive. He's going to have to be spot on with concentration and physicality against [Novak] Djokovic - he will have to find his best level for four or five hours if he wants to have a chance."

Norrie: "Physically I don't want to give any edge away so just knowing I had prepared for that match [against David Goffin in the quarter-final] and that I had a lot left in the tank. I'm trying to go above and beyond and I'm putting tennis as my number one priority - I do that better than other players I see and I've been able to take care of the details and go the extra distance."

Lugones: "In that quarter-final he had another three hours in him if he needed to - he was moving better towards the end."

Djokovic is getting into his groove now.

Two aces get him to 40-15 and he whips a forehand out of Norrie's reach to get a much more straightforward hold.

That was all a bit exciting wasn't it.

Ah. Novak Djokovic knows very well how to poop a party.

The celebratory atmosphere loses air quicker than an inflated balloon in a needle factory.

Norrie's forehand has been much improved, but it let him down as he is unable to back up the break.

    Eek.

Djokovic isn't the only one to have a nervy start.

Norrie's forehand looks nowhere near like going over the net and he gives his opening break back immediately.

He is hitting well so far, but swings one wide to go 15-30 down on his serve.

A backhand in the net on the next one gives Djokovic two break points.

Norrie would really want to back up that break here...

The start which Cam Norrie dreamt a thousand times last night.

The Brit wheels around 360 degrees, eyes bulging and mouth roaring, after nicking Novak Djokovic's serve in the first game of the match.

Some home fans even jump to their feet, mimicking his pose of holding one clenched fist in the warm Wimbledon air.
