I thought Raducanu played pretty good tennis in patches, but Alize Cornet turned that into an Alize Cornet match, soaking it all up.
This is classic Cornet, who has taken it into the trenches.

She loves the drama and wants to thrive off it.

Wow! That's some shot from Alize Cornet. A wonderful forehand down the line, followed by an attempt to whip the crowd up, brings up set point - and Raducanu conceded a set at the US Open for the very first time as she fails to get a forehand back in play.

Rafa Nadal is slowly but surely turning this encounter around, holding a 4-1 lead in the second set.
A few more unforced errors are beginning to creep into Rinky Hijikata's play - a sign that he's struggling to keep up with Nadal's increased pressure? That said, he's just held to love and he's not going to let his opponent have this all his way.
