Murray 3-4 Berrettini*
Matteo Berrettini takes up position out wide on the second serve, challenging Murray to go down the middle. Challenge accepted. But not met.
Murray finds the tape. Double fault. And Matteo Berrettini, second best for much of the opening part of this match, is a break up.

These two are starting to bring out the best in each other, which means we could be in for an absolute treat.
*Murray 3-3 Berrettini
A tale of three drop-shots.
Andy Murray gets lucky with the first, framing a smash, which wobbles over the net to leave Matteo Berrettini wrong-footed on the opening point.
But Matteo Berrettini - good touch for a big man - hits two more conventional efforts, both of which land, to bring up 30-40 and break point.

The shadow across the court certainly makes things interesting.
Must be very difficult to track the ball properly when it is coming back to you.
Murray seemed to be indicating that to his team when he was down that side of the court.
*Murray 3-3 Berrettini
Matteo Berrettini sees off the danger. The big man was wobbling there, but has stayed level on the scorecards.
Jabeur 4-6 6-4 Rogers
We're heading into a decider on Louis Armstrong.
Ons Jabeur has taken the second set over Shelby Rogers, securing a crucial break to give her the chance to serve out the set, which she promptly did to love.
Handy.

My word! That was vintage, special Andy Murray - and it even got a smile from Ivan Lendl! It must have been good...
Murray 3-2 *Berrettini
Oh my. Andy Murray just stuck Arthur Ashe into a time machine and took us all back seven years or so.
A superb running backhand winner, down the line, played from about three inches off the court surface, helps the Scot bring up deuce.
Earlier in the game, Andy Murray trained some fire onto the Berrettini backhand with some success.

We've seen a lot of variety from Murray. He is on the front foot, looking to be the aggressor, and he's conserved energy in the first two rounds. Berrettini, meanwhile, hasn't got the forehand firing yet.
Murray 3-2 *Berrettini
Andy Murray holds serve to love and he has been given a leg-up from Matteo Berrettini who has coughed up nine unforced errors already in the match.
Berrettini is really still to get things motoring. This set could be the one for Murray to make hay.

"Any seat will do," pleads umpire Greg Allensworth following the usual incoming rush at the first changeover.
Never any hurry by the Ashe crowd to take their spots in the stadium.
*Murray 2-2 Berrettini
Matteo Berrettini still hasn't unleashed the biggest bombs in his arsenal off the service oche.
But the Italian has enough to wrap up another service game to 30.

I feel like we're starting to see some of the old energy from Andy. He's not afraid to get the fist pump out on an important point.
Murray 2-1 *Berrettini
Andy Murray, rocking some a yellow-blue colour scheme, holds out.
*Murray 1-1 Berrettini

It's almost chilly in the shade today. It's actually, for the first time since we've been here, pleasant to sit in the sun. It'll be better for the players with the heat.
*Murray 1-1 Berrettini
Matteo Berrettini wafts a nothing-much forehand into the net to surrender his break chance.
That was not clever.
Murray greets the gimme with a familiar 'Cmon'!
*Murray 1-1 Berrettini
Andy Murray frames a routine forehand well wide of the tramlines. The sort of shot you see down the local park.
It gives Matteo Berrettini a glimmer at 15-30. Berrettini attempts to blow the game open with a semtex-laced forehand down the line. A smidge wide.
But then Andy Murray strays long to offer up 30-40 and the match's first break point...
*Murray 1-1 Berrettini
Plenty of huff and puff, but Matteo Berrettini finally hauls in his service game.
No break of serve for Andy Murray, but he will like how that opening Italian service game offered encouragement.
*Jabeur 4-6 2-3 Rogers
Ons Jabeur is in a spot of bother.
The Tunisian fifth seed has dropped the first set to Shelby Rogers, who ended then-world number one Ash Barty's campaign in the early stages last year.
Jabeur has never gone beyond the third round at Flushing Meadows before. She'll have to do it the hard way.
