*Tomljanovic 1-2 Williams
A much easier game this time around. A love-hold for Serena Williams and she hasn't dropped a point in two games.
After a slow start, she means business here.

There were a few forehand errors from Tomljanovic and that is the side that can break down. The backhand is fairly steady. She's jumping around a lot - I feel like she must be feeling some tension.
Tomljanovic 1-1 Williams*
Like the Australian, Serena Williams needs only one of those break points.
Tomljanovic sends a forehand over the baseline and Williams breaks back. We're level once again.
Strap in, gang.
*Tomljanovic 1-0 Williams
Serena Williams has responded to going a break down in the best way possible, racing to a 0-40 lead on Ajla Tomljanovic's serve.
Straight away, she has three break points of her own.

Tomljanovic will be consistent. She will make a lot of returns. It has been more the mental side that has really stopped her cracking the top 30.

In a lot of ways, it will be a similar match up to Kontaveit. Tomljanovic loves a powerful play from a baseline and is really athletic. She played Emma Raducanu in the fourth round at Wimbledon last year and handled that occasion really well against a noisy crowd.
For me, she's playing the best tennis of her career in the past couple of months. She has spoken about finally finding some enjoyment on court after so many years of putting pressure on herself.
*Tomljanovic 1-0 Williams
Tomljanovic needs only one of those break points.
Serena Williams goes long and finds herself behind in these very early stages.
Tomljanovic 0-0 Williams*
The first point of the match goes Tomljanovic's way, as Williams pings a backhand into the net.
The 23-time Grand Slam champion delicately touches over a drop shot to level, but Tomljanovic then responds to the American's serve with a forehand down the line.
Williams sends a backhand wide and Tomljanovic has two break points.

Four words are splashed around Ashe in flashing LED.
Greatest of all time.
That’s considered a fact around these parts.
Anyone disagreeing?
Tomljanovic 0-0 Williams*
Here. We. Go.
Serena Williams to serve first and get us under way.

I've been hearing through the grapevine that Serena's body is definitely feeling it after all this tennis in the past few months. She's maybe trying to focus on that, rather than everything else that is going on.

For the fourth time this week, we’re introduced to the ‘Queen of Queen’s’ by another Queen.
Not Elizabeth, but Latifah.
The atmosphere, as you can imagine, is already wild as Serena Williams sparkles into view.
Again she’s wearing her specially-designed dress and diamond-encrusted trainers.
Only a 23-time Grand Slam champion could get away with so much bling.

How do you feel if you're Ajla Tomljanovic?! She had some headphones in, just going about her business.

Win today and Serena Williams would become the oldest woman to reach a Grand Slam fourth round in the Open era.
Williams, who turns 41 later this month, is only the second female player in the Open era to win two main draw matches in a single US Open after turning 40.
She's just walked out on to court, Ajla Tomljanovic sent out before her as has been the case all week.

The magnitude of the occasion isn't lost on Ajla Tomljanovic. She's been speaking to reporters about what facing Serena Williams will mean to her:
“It's definitely something I'll never forget in my career," she said. "It's going to be a huge moment no matter the outcome. No matter the fact that I've been a Serena fan since I was a kid, on Friday night I'll just be a competitor and I'll try my best to win.
"I think she's changed the sport of tennis, but also what she's done worldwide for women in sports is incredible. She's paved the way for so many, inspired me to go for my dreams.
"Even her longevity. I'm in the part of my career now where they call you on the older side. She's made that kind of nonexistent. 'Old' is not even a word in her vocabulary. Very grateful to her like that. I don't think there's anyone like her, obviously.
"I just remember watching her in Wimby [Wimbledon] final with my sister in front of the TV after my practices. It's a little surreal to me that I made it, and played in the same era as her."

As there has been every night before the Serena Show, the atmosphere was pumping outside Ashe a short time ago.
Excited chatter filled the air on a warm, late summer’s night in New York as streams queued at the gate.
But if you haven’t bagged a spot inside then perching on the ledge of the water fountains is the next best place to be.
Tomljanovic v Williams
This is the first time Serena Williams and Ajla Tomljanovic have met on court.
Remarkably, not since 1998 - the year she made her main draw debut - has Williams failed to reach the US Open fourth round.
Her opponent today was just five years old.

Serena Williams is "evolving away" from tennis after the US Open. But she's in no rush for it to end any time soon.
Tonight, she takes on Australia's Ajla Tomljanovic for a place in the fourth round.
First round. Tick.
Second round. Tick.
Third round?
Time to find out.
