Play being suspended is the best thing for Dan Evans. He absolutely needed that. He wants to rest on it for a night and hopefully the Frenchman will get a bit tight. For two sets he has dominated this set, suffocated him and Evans has had no idea what to do.

Brilliant serve and volley, and aggressive tennis, but overnight, things can change.

Dan Evans was asking the umpire about the fading light in between games.

With good reason - if this match is completed tonight, it's hard to see it going any other way than the Frenchman's.

The Briton is pushing the boat out too much with a lot of his shots - he's up to 11 unforced errors. Halys has made only four.
