  9. Tie-breakpublished at 19:32 British Summer Time 9 July 2023

    Swiatek 6-7 (4-7) 6-6 (1-2) Bencic*

A much better start for Swiatek this time around as she clinches the opening point on the Bencic serve with a forehand.

Swiatek can't believe that though. A poor shot drifts long to give Bencic a 2-1 advantage.

    *Azarenka 6-2 4-5 Svitolina

Took her eye off the ball - what a time to do it. Svitolina balloons a forehand into orbit.

Deuce. Now advantage Azarenka after a ridiculous rally ended by an exquisite backhand volley from out wide that was very, very missable.

This is brilliant. What a show Iga Swaitek and Belinda Bencic are putting on.

In the first set it was Bencic who refused to buckle, now it's Swiatek showing her mettle.

We go to a second set tie-break!

    *Swiatek 6-7 (4-7) 5-6 Bencic

Not the start Swiatek needed, framing a forehand horribly on the opening point.

That's why she's world number one though! A stunning cross-court backhand gets her level.

Unbelievable. The crowd show their appreciation for what is rapidly turning into one of the matches of the tournament after Bencic fires back for 15-30.

    *Azarenka 6-2 4-5 Svitolina

The tenacity and technique on some of these rallies has to be seen to be believed.

The first set was a tad one-sided but this is developing into quite the match.

Elina Svitolina is right back in it - the rarely-seen overhead drop shot (yep) helps her to a latest hold. Can she break serve to level the match at one set all?

I wouldn't be surprised if we see a lot more balls directed into the corner towards the forehand side by Swiatek to see if she can get some cheap easy points out of it because it is that forehand that has started to unravel like it did in the first.
