Great Britain's women curler's skip Eve Muirhead, speaking about the 10-8 win against South Korea: "We had a slack ninth end and gave up a steal of two but when you win like that it stamps down a marker. We played 100% on that last end and it's great to know we can play those ends under pressure.

"We showed lots of grit there and lots of teams would have put their heads down but we came back fighting. After the first couple of games we needed to keep winning, we've got the ball rolling and the momentum going."

"Britain's Chemmy Alcott ended 23rd and bemoaned a big mistake on the bottom section. "I'm really disappointed," she told BBC Sport."

Britain's Chemmy Alcott is in action soon. The way it is going, finishing the course would be a good achievement. Austrian Elisabeth Goergl is the latest to fail to make it down to the end.

Germany's Maria Hoefl-Riesch, who won the women's super-combined gold medal on Monday, survives a couple of scares but it slows her down enough and there will not be a repeat gold. However, her time of one minute 26.07 seconds is good enough to move into second so far.
