Remember, while the snowboarding continues on BBC One, you can watch curling on the Red Button and at the top of this page.

In the mixed event, Finland are 3-2 up on Norway in the fifth end.

There's something soothing about late-night curling. Like listening to Morgan Freeman read you a bedtime story.

Stephen Barbour: Great solid first run, deserved more for sure, well done Jamie Nicholls!

Jamie Gregory: The snowboarding looks quality. I just wish I could do that - they make it look so easy!

The second run comes right after the first, so we'll know pretty soon if Jamie Nicholls can reach the final or not. Remember, two more Britons go in the second heat too.

    Snowboarding commentator on BBC TV

That was a lot lower than we thought we were going to see for Jamie - the only thing I can think is the hand drag has been punished more than we thought.

The judges were taking their time on that. He had such a good showing in Sochi and we just don't see him run much between Olympic cycles, but he still comes out so comfortably every time.

  5. Snowboardingpublished at 02:00 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February 2018

Ouch. 71.56. Only good enough for fifth in this heat. He's got another run to go, but only the first six make the final. Work to do.

  6. Snowboardingpublished at 01:59 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February 2018

Still waiting. A pat of the flag on the sleeve by Nicholls...

  7. Snowboardingpublished at 01:58 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February 2018

    Wait for the score....

  8. Snowboardingpublished at 01:57 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February 2018

Easy on the rails. Switch 180. Tucked in for speed. Frontside 10. Hands on the floor, though....

  9. Snowboardingpublished at 01:57 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February 2018

Right then Jamie Nicholls, what have you got? Remember, he was sixth in Sochi four years ago.

He's in red. A wave to the camera, a hug to a coach, then away....

Stand by. Norway's Mons Roisland is just heading down the slope, then comes Britain's Jamie Nicholls.

  11. Snowboardingpublished at 01:52 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February 2018

There it is. A score of 83.71 for the Norwegian, who edges Canada's Sebastien Toutent into second place.

A little mistake by the two-time X Games champion, but he's turning more than clothes in a tumbles dryer. A spot at the top of the leaderboard?

  13. Snowboardingpublished at 01:50 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February 2018

Because the snow turns everything white (obviously), it's hard for the riders to see the slopes. Therefore, they are outlined with blue paint. It's like when a football pitch gets different coloured lines during bad weather. Here comes Marcus Kleveland...

    'Plenty of judges required'

    Ed Leigh
    Commentator on BBC TV

We're three riders in and we've had three completely different runs through the course. There's absolutely no benchmark for the judges to go from so far and that's why we have such a big team of judges here.

  15. Snowboardingpublished at 01:48 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February 2018

We've had confirmation of why the action was delayed. It was nothing to do with the wind or TV cameras. It was because the judges could not get a TV feed of the action, so couldn't do their judging. Honestly.

  16. Snowboardingpublished at 01:46 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February 2018

Remember, Great Britain's Jamie Nicholls is the eighth to go in this first heat. The riders, mostly decked out in grey, are coming from on high, through the snowy mist and attacking the pipes, ramps and slopes. Quite frankly, the height they get off the jumps is ridiculous. Gravity defying stuff.

  17. Snowboardingpublished at 01:43 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February 2018

Stop the presses. There are riders heading down the slope. Chris Corning of the United States is the first man out.

  18. The wait goes on...published at 01:41 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February 2018

    There is still no snowboarding.

This is turning into one of the great times when there was no sport.

You know, spectacular floodlight failures, animals on the pitch, the groundsman forgot to open up...
