Nicholls, by the way, is outside the top six by 1.04 points. That's a tiny amount when you're trying to earn a place in an Olympic final.

Matt Jones: Jamie Nicholls has been absolutely robbed on his first run. Bergrem's 75-point second run is unwarranted and really inconsistent scoring from the judges has cost Jamie.
Ed Leigh
Snowboarding commentator on BBC TV
I genuinely think he's been robbed here.
If you compare him with Torgeir Bergrem in fifth, who had a poor run, Jamie Nicholls just had one small hand-drag and I really don't think the two match up.
But at this level you have to get a really solid run down. When you have your friends and family watching and you've waited this long, it's such a shame.
If you didn't see it, this was Jamie Nicholls' first run. It was good enough for sixth place after the first run, which eventually became seventh. The Briton wasn't able to improve on his second run and will go out.
Nicholls is lying on his back, in the snow, arms outstretched. His slopestyle is over. He'll be back for the big air.
What a disappointment.
He's down! Nicholls is in the snow!
Great Britain's Jamie Nicholls is out.
An outside chance of a medal is gone for Team GB.
Switch 180, but a missed grab. Into the kickers, frontside 1080.
OK, Jamie Nicholls. Your time is now. In seventh, one place out of the qualification spots. Here he goes...

Rob Barrie: I'm really confused about the scoring. That 75 point scoring run was NOT better than Jamie's and I'm not even an avid watcher of snowboarding.
Norway's Marcus Kleveland, leader after the first run, proves that he is human by sitting in the snow during his second run. He still sits atop the leaderboard, though and is pretty unlikely to miss out on the final.

Rebecca Hindle: Seems judges are overmarking everyone. There's no way that was better than Jamie. He put his hands down.
Torgeir Bergrem, of Norway, has just jumped into fifth place, despite a pretty untidy run. It means that Jamie Nicholls will definitely have to improve on his first run if he he is to make the final.
Ed Leigh
Snowboarding commentator on BBC TV
There is plenty of talent up there on that leaderboard. Jamie Nicholls, we know, has a lot more to give and can certainly tidy his run up. He doesn't need to push it that much at the moment.
It'll be an interesting second run, the crowds have filled up now and there's a great atmosphere for the riders out there.
Right then, the second run is about to begin. Jamie Nicholls is sixth after the first run, so is clinging on to the final place in the final. He's eighth out of the gate.
We haven't yet finished the first run of the first heat. Finland's Kalle Jarvilehto has just eaten a lot of snow in a meaty crash. Vlad Khadarin, of the OAR, is the last man to go.

07:15-08:20: The first medals of the 2018 Winter Olympics will be awarded at the Alpensia cross country skiing centre where Norway's Marit Bjoergen is a strong favourite to secure victory in the women's 7.5km + 7.5km skiathlon.
The 'Iron Lady' is the reigning world and Olympic champion in the event and looking to secure a seventh Olympic title, but countrywoman Heidi Weng took bronze in Sochi 2014 and is in career-best form.
