Liam Burnell: These women are absolutely rapid on the ice. Proper end to end stuff!

Cross-country skiing: Ladies' 7.5km + 7.5km skiathlon
We've just seen Sweden's Charlotte Kalla winning the first gold medal of the Winter Olympics, beating the Iron Lady Marit Bjoergen in the skiathlon.
Kalla will have her medal presented to her at around 10:00 GMT by International Olympic Committee president Thomas Bach.
It's her third career Olympic gold medal.
We have had one gold so far, 101 more to go but there won't be any for a good few hours.
Cross-country skiing: Ladies' 7.5km + 7.5km skiathlon
A quick update on the cross-country skiing that we saw earlier, and Great Britain's Annika Taylor finished down in 60th position.

Angus:Watching the Winter Olympics is always a visceral experience - the snowboarding makes me gasp in awe, the moguls make my knees feel sore and the cross-country skiing just leaves me feeling exhausted.
Ice Hockey: Japan 0-1 Sweden
The action moves pretty quick at the Winter Olympics and it is straight over to the ice hockey, with Japan and Sweden in women's preliminary round action.
Sweden take the lead with a goal from Fanny Rask, as 'Chase the Sun' by Planet Funk plays around the arena as the puck hits the net.
You will have heard that song if you have ever watched any PDC darts event as that is their main theme.
When darts meets the Winter Olympics. Anyone in fancy dress in south Korea?

Charlotte Kalla has been phenomenal. We expected this to be a very, very close race but we saw her just burst away. It was perfect. That was a dominant win.

It was perfect by Charlotte Kalla. She played it so clever. She put in a burst of speed when it counted and created a gap which nobody could cope with.
Cross-country skiing: Ladies' 7.5km + 7.5km skiathlon
History for Marit Bjoergen, as she becomes the most decorated female Winter Olympian of all time.
Finland's Krista Parmakoski takes the bronze medal, Norway's Ingvild Oestberg was in second but faded late on and can only come 11th.

Cross-country skiing: Ladies' 7.5km + 7.5km skiathlon
Charlotte Kalla has two gold medals to her name, is she going to make it a treble.
She took individual gold in the 10km freestyle in Vancouver in 2010 and then was part of the victorious Sweden team in the 4x5km relay four years ago.

This is a big move by Charlotte Kalla. This is really exciting to see. For me Marit Bjoergen played it badly. There is a big gap now. Will she be able to make it up or will that prove costly? Bjoergen is going to have to do something special now.
Cross-country skiing: Ladies' 7.5km + 7.5km skiathlon
The Swedish fans are getting excited, waving their flags as their woman, Charlotte Kalla leads the way. Norway's Ingvild Oestberg is in the silver medal position, with Marit Bjoergen down in third.
Kalla's lead is at 9.6 seconds. A brutal hill to go and gold is close.

If we are still as tightly packed as this in 3.5 km time, we are going to see somebody make a move for the finishing stretch.
Cross-country skiing: Ladies 7.5km + 7.5km skiathlons
Bjoergen leads at the 11.25km mark. Closing in on Winter Olympics history. Only 3.75km to go.
