If you watch Elise Christie's interview, which is being shown again on BBC Two now, the thought of her competing again in a few days is tough.

She will have to be very strong to recover from disappointment like that. But that's what separates Olympians from the rest of us!

The support staff will make sure she is okay. She is a tough cookie. She will come back I'm sure.

Stewart Laing, Performance Director for Short Track Speed Skating speaking to BBC Sport: "It all happened so quickly. We haven't been able to sit down and watch it fully back yet so I wouldn't want to point fingers. Hugely disappointed but that is the nature of short track. Unfortunately she finishes in that soul-destroying fourth place.

"We have brought our sports psychologist out and we have had this planned just in case. We will regroup and refocus. We will give her time to digest but then help her cope with what's happened.

"We go back to some of the processes we put in place. Crucially Elise is in a much stronger place. She is far more robust than last time. She has actually finished the race so it's different to Sochi. Obviously none of us wanted it to be written this way but we come back on Saturday in her best event.

"We look at her and she has speed and she has talent. You have to give it everything. The 1500 and 1000 are her favourite events so will will sit down and focus on them."

Elise Christie had absolutely no hopes of staying on her feet. Intentional interference isn't allowed but obviously the referees can't see everything.

They have their cameras so you just have to go with their decision.
