Olympic gold medallist skeleton racerThere are such strict rules about clothing and equipment, there is no way Team GB would do anything illegal. It will have all been cleared by jury to use here.
Everyone tries to think out of the box to gain a competitive advantage but in reality I don’t think the innovations make that much difference.
We all do it, because even If it gives you 0.01% of an advantage, why wouldn’t you?
In reality, the athlete who has a great push, doesn’t make mistakes and puts four consistent runs together will be crowned Olympic champion.

Liam Burnell: Take a bow Shaun White... The commentators made that final run sound magical and it was brilliant to watch. And to think I had never heard of Shaun White or the Half Pipe half hour ago?

Amy Williams
Olympic gold medallist skeleton racerIn 2010, there was a protest after I’d won gold about my helmet.
It was horrible because my closest friends in the sport for the previous 10 years thought we were trying to cheat.
I knew everything was OK and wasn’t worried about the protest because the helmet had been cleared by the jury but it was still gut-wrenching to think that athletes and coaches were viewing me in that way.

Commentator on BBC TVA historic moment! Randi Griffin scores the first ever goal for the combined Corean hockey team. Not a thing of beauty but a moment of history for this team.
Whether you're from the north or the south - you will have been cheering that goal. Now there's so much confidence. Maybe, just maybe they can get back into this game.

08:41 GMT 14 February 2018Here's the Guardian article, external which the US team say was 'perfectly timed.'
It says: "The suit works largely due to special drag-resistant ridges developed by scientists at TotalSim in Northampton, and the English Institute of Sport, which create a “turbulence effect” in the suit that reduces the amount of wind resistance acting on the body. The suits are also custom-made, with each athlete undergoing a 3D laser-scan for fitting before they are built with polyurethane derivatives."

"They've still got to go to Middlesbrough and get something. I'd love it if we beat them. Love it!"
The Americans should get Tony Stark to do their suits.
'A smart, strategic move...'published at 08:39 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2018
08:39 GMT 14 February 2018USA Bobsled & Skeleton CEO Darrin Steele tells BBC Sport: "The rules are clear that there can’t be any aerodynamic elements attached to the suit, and we don’t expect to see any on the British speedsuits in the race. Athletes from various nations are talking about the British suits instead of focusing on the upcoming races.
"A large part of this sport is mental strength. It’s about who can throw down despite distractions, and we’ll see who comes out on top over these next few days. The timing of the article was perfect and a smart strategic move by the British team."

John Jackson
Two-time Olympic bobsledder on Radio 5 liveThere has certainly been a lot of chat. The rumour mill has started but there's really not anything in it.
It's just a bit of a media storm as far as I'm concerned. I don't think the skin suit could give you that much advantage. You're given a bib you have have to wear anyway so any advantage would be covered by it.
There's nothing wrong with the equipment they are using. Do skeleton develop their equipment? Yes. Have they managed to gain an advantage? Yes. But that's marginal gains.
They have managed to get the speed they have because they are sliding really well.

Former British short track speed skater on BBC TVOn Elise Christie's comeback: It makes it harder for any athlete [to suffer disappointment multiple times] - not just for Elise Christie. It is possible though.
We will see how she gets on in training. Everyone will be getting behind her and now it's really down to supporting her step-by-step, baby steps really, and bringing her back to the level she needs to be.
On social media taunting of Canadian bronze medallist Kim Boutin: Social media bullying is not something we want to see. It doesn't belong to short track. It is very irresponsible for the people doing it. It's not fair on the athletes.

08:29 GMT 14 February 2018Canadian short track speed skater Kim Boutin has received online threats and abuse after winning a bronze medal in Tuesday's 500m final.
Boutin took third place after South Korean athlete Choi Min-jeong was disqualified for interfering, in the race which saw Elise Christie crash out.
But the 23-year-old was forced to block her social media accounts on Wednesday after abuse from angry Korean fans.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) issued a statement asking the public to "respect the athletes".
