  1. Nordic Combinedpublished at 07:30 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2018

Nordic combined is also a summer sport – during those months, the ski jump is made out of porcelain with a thin layer of water sprinkled on it, while competitors use roller skis for the cross-country.

    Franz-Josef Rehrl still leads.

    BBC Sport in Pyeongchang

I’ve just left the curling centre over the far side of the Olympic park and they’re stopping people walking across the park as the wind is too dangerous. It’s causing dust to fly up off the ground. The tents look a bit precarious too.

    Who to watch?

Japan’s Yoshito Watabe is arguably the favourite.

With a dominant victory in the historic Seefeld Triple he ended January at the head of the World Cup standings. Watabe’s Sochi medal was a breakthrough moment given that he has jokingly said he suffered from “fourth-place syndrome” in the past. The Nagano-born star believes the Pyeongchang course, which features a “hard, steep uphill part”, suits him.

He's second at the minute after a jump of 104m. Franz-Josef Rehrl leads with a massive 112m!

What's better than ski jumping? What's better than cross-country skiing?

That's right, an event where you do BOTH!

The Nordic combined is under way. Athletes do a ski jump first and then the cross-country race that follows has a staggered start, with the leader(s) after the ski jumping going first.
