    Luge: Team relay

When each athlete crosses the finish line, they have to reach up and thwack a touchpad - a bit like they're playing an icy version of Bop-It.

However, the touchpads are a little flimsy. There's bit of paper coming off it as the athletes go flying underneath it.

The Koreans are next up, which cranks the atmosphere up a tad...

Mike Corris: GB ladies seem to be struggling. Hearing a lot of weird communication between them, like: “whatever you think is best”. Have they fallen out or something?

    Jackie Lockhart
Four-time Olympic curler on BBC TV

GB are asking the questions of China now, but each time they do, they're getting answered. These girls are sweeping as hard as they can, which is so important, because they can alter the end position of a stone massively either way.

I could do with one of these brushes for my kitchen floor. It's a nightmare to get spotless.

Britain's rink sweep with the gusto of a diligent cleaner as China take control of the sixth end midway through.

They're settled with two stones in the middle of the house - feet up, fire roaring - as Britain toil.

    No pressure, then...

If you're at home, wanting a bit of relaxing afternoon TV, then the curling is on BBC One, as Great Britain take on China.

There's men's 10,000m speed skating available on the Red Button, and if biathlon is your gig, you can watch that at the top of this page.

    Luge: Team relay

The notes I have say that the key to being a great luger is "keeping relaxed". Staying relaxed when you're on a sled that is gallivanting down a hill at top speed, when you can barely lift your head to see, is no mean feat.

Proper team effort from the Czech doubles crew to stretch and reach the touchpad to end their run. They're in second as it stands.

    Speed skating: Men's 10,000m

Ted-Jan Bloemen, the man who switched allegiance from the Netherlands to Canada three years ago, has just smashed the Olympic record in the men's 10,000m.

The 31-year-old took silver in the 5,000m the other day, but the world record holder is now in pole position for gold in this one.

One last run to come, and it features eight-time Olympic gold medalist Sven Kramer...

    Luge: Team relay

The team relay is under way, with Slovakia taking a very early lead. Germany are the favourites, though.

They get up to speeds of about 75mph as they go whizzing through the bends. Ooft.

    Biathlon: Men's 20km individual

It's only second for Austria's Dominik Landertinger as we stand. He crosses the line 14.2 seconds behind Norway's Johannes Thingnes Bo.

Defending champion Martin Fourcade from France is relegated to bronze.

On the course, Slovenia's Jakov Fak is clean through the last round of shooting and is beginning his final circuit. Can he deny Bo? He is just over five seconds down heading into the final 2km.

    Curling: Women's round-robin GB 3-4 China

    Jackie Lockhart
Four-time Olympic curler on BBC TV

The games aren't going to get any easier for GB, they've still got the likes of Sweden, Switzerland and Canada to play. But these girls are experienced, they have to use that experience to turn their form around, both in this game and in the upcoming matches.

    Biathlon: Men's 20km individual

France's Martin Fourcade will not defend this title. He crosses the line 42.4 seconds behind leader Johannes Thingnes Bo. It's a silver medal at best Fourcade after shipping two minutes of penalties in the last round of shooting.

On the course, Dominik Landertinger is four seconds up on Bo's split with around 3km to go having produced a clean round of shooting.

Bo is seeking a first Olympic medal in his eighth race.

Easy pickings for China, as GB go a bit too sweep crazy, and a tempting stone gets summarily tonked out of the house.

The Brits are going to have to settle for one from this fifth end. Not what they were after.

How's it feel to be lapped in a two-man race? Davide Ghiotto could tell you, the Italian wasn't moving particularly slowly, it's just Jorrit Bergsma was absolutely flying.

The 2014 champion has just broken his own Olympic record to move nearly 14 seconds ahead of the rest of the field in the men's 10,000m speed skating.

A time of 12 minutes, 41.98 seconds for the Dutchman. Rapid.
