    Figure Skating

BBC One are currently showing the highlights of the pairs figure skating, which happened earlier today.

It's hypnotic, but you must have to have complete trust in your partner. One skater has just lifted his partner up in the palm of his hand.

It's a move many have tried to recreate on the dancefloor at a wedding - and it always ends badly...

Gold Medal - Hanna Oebergpublished at 09:48 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February 2018

    Biathlon: Women's 15km individual

After a long and nervous wait, Sweden's Hanna Oeberg is confirmed as the Olympic champion as Germany's Laura Dahlmeier is unable to topple her at the top of the leaderboard.

The 22-year-old still can't believe it.

It's silver for Slovakia's Anastasiya Kuzmina and bronze for Dahlmeier.

Oeberg went clean in the shooting with 20 out of 20. Just the two misses for Kuzmina but it proves costly as she finishes 24.7 seconds back after those two one minute penalties.

Great Britain's Amanda Lightfoot finishes 73rd out of 87, over eight minutes behind Oeberg.

She finished 71st out of 78 four years ago in Sochi on her Olympic debut.

Remember Pita Taufatofua, the Tongan flag bearer at Rio 2016?

He's swapped taekwondo for cross-country skis, but he only hit the snow for the first time 12 weeks ago.

His ambitions? To "finish before they turn the lights off" and "don't ski into a tree".

"Every race, I struggle. Every race I want to quit, there hasn't been a race I haven't wanted to stop after the first lap - but I always finish a race," he told BBC Sport.

John Huck: Pyeongchang 2018 is quality. Not often you get to watch a Norwegian take an ice skate to the nose from a Swede at 8.30 in the morning..

I've just asked my colleague, Caroline Chapman, about the weather situation in Pyeongchang today.

She says it warm - and warm, by her definition, means she only requires one coat today, rather than two.

    Biathlon: Women's 15km individual

Tears now flowing for Sweden's Hanna Oeberg as she realises an Olympic medal is all but certain.

But will it be gold for the 22-year-old? Germay's Laura Dahlmeier is her nearest challenger with less than 1.5km to go, but she is over 30 seconds behind. Surely too much...

  14. Superhero speed suits?published at 09:31 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February 2018

There's been some criticism of Great Britain's sliders new high-tech suits, with claims that the suits are giving them "superhero" speed.

Dominic Parsons, who is in fourth place after two runs of the men's skeletons, said the biggest thing for the athletes was "getting the fundamentals of sliding right".

"I don't think it's an arms race; it's more that little extra edge," Parsons said after his run.

"Without getting the basics right you're not going to go fast, so the main focus of all the work we do is on the fundamentals of sliding.

It's about being able to get speed out of the sled, understanding the tracks and getting our lines down the tracks. That is the biggest thing."

    Biathlon: Women's 15km individual

It's all smiles from Sweden's Hanna Oeberg as she waits at the finish line.

And the 22-year-old has every right to be happy after shooting a clean round, that's 20 out of 20.

Remember, one minute is added to their time for every miss in this event.

    Alpine Skiing

My feel good story of the day is Aksel Lund Svindal becoming the first Norwegian to claim men's downhill gold.

Svindal tore his ACL in January 2016 - his knee is all but gone, apparently - and he only won his first World Cup downhill race since then in December 2017.

At 35, he's the oldets Olympic alpine skiing champion.

    Biathlon: Women's 15km individual

Great Britain's Amanda Lightfoot crosses the line in 49 minutes and 14.7 seconds.

Three misses from five on the last round of shooting from the standing position proving costly and she is 30th at the moment.

At the top of leaderboard, Sweden's Hanna Oeberg now leads by 24.7 seconds. She faces a nervous wait as the leading competitors near the end of their runs.
