    Big air qualifiers

Billy Morgan is up next. He still has the luxury of sitting in sixth place.

If he can improve on his first run, he will cement that final spot...

I'm almost a little bit concerned that the finals aren't going to be able to live up to the unbelievable pace that has been set in qualifying here.

    Big air qualifiers

It does! it really does! There is a man with a "clipboard of power" directing traffic at the top of the ramp. Has that been there for the whole Games, or is it a one-off?

I need more info on the Clipboard of Power.

Is there a man at the top of the ramp holding a board with "clipboard of power" written on the back?

    I really, really hope so.

    Stand by for confirmation...

With every rider that passes, and misses out on the top six, Billy Morgan inches a little closer to the Olympic final.

His second run is up soon...

  7. 'I wanted to inspire people'published at 03:31 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February 2018

Christie, who has crashed twice and been disqualified once at these Games, to go with three disqualifications four years ago, had these words on Twitter.

"I wanted to inspire people never to give up," she said of skating with an ankle injury yesterday.

"I'm sorry it didn't end up the way we all hoped and I'm thankful for every message of support."

The snowboarders are taken up to the top of the ramp which is over 100ft high via this little lift. I don’t think they’d fancy climbing up if it breaks down!

    Big air qualifiers

Billy Morgan remains in sixth place at the end of the first run of the second heat of the big air. There are some very, very strong riders right behind him - the likes of Tyler Nicholson and Marcus Kleveland.

It's all on that second run...

    Women's downhill

Finally, Sofia Goggia can celebrate what we have known for some time. She is the Olympic champion, the first Italian woman to take the downhill title. That is Italy's third gold medal of these Games.

Lindsey Vonn has to make do with bronze, while Norway's Ragnhild Mowinckel takes the silver.

    Big air qualifiers

87.50 for Billy Morgan, enough for sixth place. There are still more six riders to go in this first heat and the whole second heat to come but, as it stands, the British man would be into the Olympic final.
