Curling: Men's final Sweden 0-0 United States

One of the highlights of the Games surely has to be a new-found love of curling for tough guy Mr T, he of The A-Team and Rocky III fame.

And of course he is cheering his country on in their big moment. When I say cheering on, more like threatening them, but, still he is watching on.

    Men's final: Sweden 0-0 USA

    Jackie Lockhart
Four-time Olympic curler on BBC TV

The USA have found form at the right time. They had a fantastic game against Canada to get to this final and nobody expected that to happen.

They're going to enjoy themselves but they've got a real battle ahead against Sweden.

Curling men’s gold medal: Sweden 0-0 USA (after end one)

This could be a sign of things to come. A tight and tense opening end finishes blank, neither team able to make an early breakthrough.

Sweden are competing in their first Olympic final, but are used to winning the big matches having claimed the past four European titles.

Curling men’s gold medal: Sweden v USA

    Caroline Chapman
    BBC Sport in Pyeongchang

There are some very giddy curling fans around today.

Earlier on, a group of Americans decked out in Stars and Stripes were all grouped together chanting “we know we’re going to win, we know we’re going to win.”

There’s also a very jolly (maybe slightly intoxicated) Canadian man who’s trying to cajole everyone into cheering for Sweden.

“You’ve ruined our Olympics,” he shouts at the USA fans. He could be referring to the curling or the ice hockey here.

Right, let's crack on shall we? Watching curling at this hour on a Saturday morning reminds me of being glued to Trans World Sport as a kid.

The men's gold-medal match between Sweden and the United States is our latest fill of live action.

That's live on BBC Two, and on this very page, right now.

Norway beat GB on way to record medal

Norway secured a record 38th medal at a Winter Olympics with bronze in the inaugural alpine skiing mixed team event as Switzerland took gold.

Norway passed the United States' tally of 37 medals, won at the 2010 Vancouver Games, with victory over France in the bronze-medal decider.

Switzerland beat Austria for gold in the event which sees four-strong teams compete in head-to-head slalom races.

Great Britain were knocked out in the quarter-finals by Norway.

Ledecka wins second gold... in second sport

The biggest story of the day - and arguably of the Games - is Ester Ledecka.

The 22-year-old Czech, who earned ashock victory in the skiing super G last Saturday, beat Germany's Selina Joerg to win her second gold in Pyeongchang.

She is the fifth athlete to win in two sports at one Games and the first in unrelated events with the previous double wins coming in Nordic events.

    GB struggle in bobsleigh

At the same time as Morgan was anxiously waiting to learn whether he'd bag a medal or not, two British bobsleigh sleds were also starting their campaigns.

Like Morgan, they were only deemed to have an outside chance. Unlike Morgan it looks like aren't even going to have a chance.

Lamin Deen's team are currently 17th at the halfway stage, a place ahead of Brad Hall and his crew.

    Ed Leigh
Freestyle skiing and snowboarding commentator on BBC TV

The standard of qualifiers was one of the best snowboard competitions I have ever seen.

Add into that the fact Billy hadn't ridden through January because of his injury, and his father's illness last year, its ridiculous he found that form to win a medal.

To pull it back together and land two incredible jumps was breathtaking.

After Jenny Jones' medal in 2014, snowdomes filled up. Looking forward for GB Park & Pipe, hopefully we can bring those young generations through. That's a really exciting prospect.

    Morgan wins big air bronze

Arise Sir Billy. OK, that's pushing it a little bit... but Billy Morgan is a name the whole country will be hearing a lot today.

The 28-year-old from Southampton won bronze in the men's snowboard big air to secure Great Britain their highest medal tally in Winter Olympics history.

It is Team GB's fifth medal in Pyeongchang, taking them past the four won in 1924 and 2014.

It follows a skeleton gold for Lizzy Yarnold as well as bronze medals for Dom Parsons, Laura Deas and Izzy Atkin.

There's plenty going on away from the slopes in Pyeongchang today but unfortunately for the people at the Gangneung Olympic Village are going to have to brave the driving wind, rain and hail.

At the curling arena, the men's title decider between Sweden and the USA (06:35 GMT) is followed by Britain v Japan in the women's bronze medal showdown (11:00 GMT).

Elsewhere, the Czech Republic play Canada in the men's ice hockey bronze medal match (12:10 GMT) and it's the mass-start finals in the speed skating from 12:30 GMT.

You might want to keep an eye on the carnage of the speed skating. Apparently it's like NASCAR on ice.

If I was a betting man I'd hazard a guess Britain isn't going to extend its record Winter Olympics medal haul in the cross-country skiing.

We're over halfway in the men's 50km which, in my opinion, must attract the barmiest athletes at the Games.

FIFTY kilometres?! Ploughing through the snow. That's an expedition, not a sport.

Anyway... Andrew Musgrave - Britain's best hope in this event - and his team-mate Callum Smith are well down the 71-man field.gett

The buzz about the curling media tent is that Ivanka Trump, daughter of the American President, is going to be in attendance at the gold medal match between USA and Sweden, which starts at 06:30 GMT.

She's hot-footed it over to the coast having spent her morning at the big air.

We've been told the King of Sweden is also in attendance.

It wasn't to be for Lee Sangho. Like in his semi-final, the South Korean trails his opponent but this time there is no dramatic fightback.

Swiss Galmarini has been in great form throughout and is not going to let this gold medal skip out of his grasp now.

He glides over the line first, going one better than in Sochi.

No such problem this time. Kosir's arms are aloft as takes bronze, 1.49 seconds ahead of France's Sylvain Dufour who slipped.
