It's a win for another Korean though, world record holder Shim Sukhee wins it from Suzanne Schulting of the Netherlands.

How many medals will Korea win in this event?

If the snowboarders, et al, wore aerodynamic ski suits would their turns and jumps be higher and better? Does the clothing they wear cause drag that can affect their performance.

    Anon

Probably - but they wouldn't look half as cool!

    Women's 1000m

The 1000m is a bit more technical than a flat-out sprint. An element of a Hoy/Pendleton style cycling sprint about it as the leader picks their moment to jump away from the pack.

Choi Minjeong of Korea has her tactics nailed, swanning around the outside with a lap and a half to go and easily winning the race. That was very impressive.

Also through is Chunyu Qu of China.

Charlotte Cunnah: The team repairing the holes in the ice on the short-track speed skating have got this down to a fine art, shout out to them!

More TLC for the ice. It's cutting up like an FA Cup third-round pitch at Moss Rose.

Barry Brewster: It’s quite nice watching the speed skating knowing that if there’s a good old bundle they won’t have the GB athlete on their back!

Gary Marshall: If you don't like all the penalties in F1 then don't watch short track speed skating!

    Women's 1000m

Arianna Fontana is serene, graceful across the ice. The slower they look like they're going the better. Unless they are actually just slow.

    Women's 1000m

500 champ Arianna Fontana goes for Italy in the second race. The ice is getting plenty of running repairs, using a trowel, some water and a fire extinguisher.
