Italy lead the way at the third shooting station. Germany could move to the top of the medal table with gold here by the way.

    They lie second...

    Women's 1000m

    Wilf O’Reilly MBE
Former British short track speed skater on BBC TV

Suzanne Schulting showed her power and strength there - she really took the race by the scruff of the neck. Being at the front, you can try and control the pace of the race, and she did that, she made it difficult for the other athletes.

That is Arianna Fontana's eighth Olympic medal. The most in Olympic history at short-track.

    Women's 1000m

Medal time on the ice again. Can Arianna Fontana win a first medal in this event at her fourth Games?

Or will it be Korean gold?

    Men's 500m

    Sarah Lindsay
Three-time Olympic short track speed skater on BBC TV

We thought Wu Dajing was chilling - waiting for the Koreans to make an attack - he made it look that easy. There's no-one really out there with him, he's skated his own race, and he's absolutely smashed the world record. An absolutely class performance.

  10. Postpublished at 11:25 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February 2018

All the skaters went under 40 seconds. That was fast.

Hwang Daehon and Lim Hyojun make it silver and bronze for the hosts Korea.

  11. world record

World Record - Wu Dajingpublished at 11:23 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February 2018

Jo Cooper: Smashing interview with Elise Christie! I'm glad to see her positivity despite her disappointments on the ice this week. Her determination to continue (and to win!) is so inspiring! Good on ya gal!

  17. 'There's still a lot more I want to achieve' - Christiepublished at 11:18 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February 2018

    Elise Christie update

GB speed skater Elise Christie speaking to BBC TV about here future in the sport: "I think there’s time’s when it’s going to be tough, but after Sochi I was suffering from depression, and I’m not in that place anymore. I’ve got my team around me, and I’m improving still, and there’s still a lot I want to achieve.

"I had been thinking about retiring, but after I said I’d like to go until Beijing, I knew that was what I wanted to do. And I’m going to try and do short and long track next time, which will probably mean the 1500m gets the cut. But I’m going to get myself so strong it won’t even matter."

On negative comments on social media: "I’m happy for people to have an opinion, and they have a right to it. But the bad ones won’t affect me, so they might as well not bother, they’re wasting their time."

On being an inspiration: "I’m really happy to be an inspiration, when I can. It’s just as good as winning a medal."

    Men's 500m

Shaolin Sandor Liu wins the B final, which may seem trivial but if there are crashes/penalties in the main final he could end up with a bronze. It happened the other day for the Dutch women.

    Women's 4x6km relay

The snow is really starting to come down, just to add another layer of difficulty to what is an already punishing sport.

Unsurprisingly Germany – spearheaded by star biathlete Laura Dahlmeier – are reigning world champions, and have won two of this season’s three World Cup contests, ending second in the other. Germany won medals at the first six women’s Olympic relays (including gold in 1998 and 2002) but ended a lowly 11th in Sochi.
