  1. Farewell

Today at the Games will also bring you highlights on BBC Two at 19:00 GMT, while you can continue to watch this afternoon's BBC Two coverage in this page.

The live text will get going again this evening, with nine more gold medals available on day three.

    Until then, goodbye.

  2. Post update

Before we depart who fancies skipping through some of the best action today?

  3. Stay across the Winter Olympics on the BBC

    BBC Two

Our live coverage on BBC One may have ended but if you have not quite had your Winter Olympics fix for the day flick over to BBC Two.

You'll also be able to recap all the action later on:

16:00-01:00 - BBC iPlayer, BBC Red Button, BBC Sport website and mobile app

  4. Post update

As my colleague Sonia Oxley has outlined, it takes some bottle to go feet first at average speeds of 120-145km/h.

  5. 'I finished on a high'

    Men's luge

    Rupert Staudinger

It was all smiles for GB luge competitor Rupert Staudinger earlier after he finished 23rd in the Luge.

Speaking to BBC Sport, he said: "I'm really pleased with my three runs. Today was the best run, so I finished on a high.

"It's a huge track, gigantic. It's very unique, it has a lot of things you don't see on the calendar. It's a big challenge to slide here."

  6. Post update

In case you are also wondering Team GB's mixed doubles semi-final appearance in the curling is scheduled to be at 12:05 GMT.

So for those of you at work tomorrow, that's not bad timing for a bit of lunchtime Winter Olympics action on the BBC.

  7. Smiling into the semi-finals

    Mixed doubles curling

    Did you get all that?

The most important thing is that even a defeat by the USA (01:05 GMT) will not deny Team GB's Bruce Mouat and Jen Dodds a shot at a medal.

  8. How it stands

    Mixed doubles curling

If you were to peruse the official standings in the mixed doubles of the curling right now it would look something like this, with a Q for qualified next to Italy, Great Britain and Norway.

Jen Dodds and Bruce Mouat missed the chance to seal their own place, but defeats for Sweden and Canada put them through to the next stage anyway.

They qualified because of their head-to-head record against other nations.

Italy are already through as group winners, but Britain, Canada and Norway all have five wins and three losses with a match left to play, while Sweden's campaign has concluded with five wins and four defeats.

    Men's ski jumping normal hill

    Simon Gleave

Head of sports analysis, Nielsen Gracenote

    Manuel Fettner

Ski jump silver and bronze medallists Manuel Fettner (pictured above) and Dawid Kubacki are the biggest shock medallists at this Olympic Games so far.

They were ranked 21st and 15th respectively in Gracenote's ski jumping ranking. Neither of them had been on a major event podium since Kubacki did so in January 2021.

Fettner's silver medal was his best result ever. He had previously finished third on three occasions in World Cup events in 2010, 2016 and 2017. Kubacki did have previous success, including World Championship gold three years ago in the normal hill event, but he had not finished on the podium in his last 31 individual events.

  10. Post update

    Thomas Duncan

    BBC Scotland in Beijing

    Well, that was confusing.

Jen Dodds and Bruce Mouat trooped off the ice having been eased aside by Norway, but the drama was only just beginning.

Sweden and Canada were still playing their matches, both then lost, which set the media here into a frenzy about head-to-heads and draw shot challenges.

Finally the little 'Q' for Qualified appeared next to GB's name, and everyone can breathe a little sigh of relief.

  11. Post update

Steve Cram is still on duty at the curling outlining just how difficult it was to work out the permutations around Team GB's progression in the mixed doubles.

Definitely one for the calculators and rule book!

  12. 'I can't even think of a shot that they missed'

    Mixed doubles curling

    Jen Dodds and Bruce Mouat

Team GB curling duo Jen Dodds and Bruce Mouat spoke to BBC Sport after their 6-2 defeat by Norway - but before they knew that they had qualified for the semi-finals:

Mouat said: "They played some really impressive shots and didn't really leave us with anything. They were just playing really well and they were the better side today.

Dodds added: "I can't even think of a shot that they missed actually."

On looking ahead to tomorrow when they play USA, she said: "We will have to park this quite quickly because of playing again so soon. We'll have a good chat tonight, debrief the game and take our learnings from it into the next game. There won't be much sleep again tonight but we'll reset for tomorrow."

  13. Olympic experience 'absolutely incredible' for Gerken Schofield

    Women's moguls

    Makayla Gerken Schofield

Makayla Gerken Schofield, speaking to BBC Sport after her eighth-place finish:"I am struggling to believe it. I had so much fun out there. Eighth place is absolutely incredible.

"It has been a while since I enjoyed skiing to be honest but tonight felt incredible. Skiing those bumps... just the feeling, I have no words. I think it is a mix of everything, this course is stunning.

"I tried to take it like a World Cup but in the back of my mind I was thinking 'oh my god, it is the Olympics'."

On her sister Leonie, who finished 17th in qualifying in the same event:"Massive support. She hugged me every run and I do the same. I am super proud of her."

On a result to celebrate:"It all still feels so surreal. I am struggling to believe I have been in the top eight. My brother (Tom, who missed out on qualifying for Beijing in the men's event) is probably jumping around in the living room with my parents because I have so many messages. I will probably call them and there might be a few tears."

    Women's ice hockey

Looks like being three wins from three matches for the USA in the women's ice hockey.

They are currently 6-0 up against Switzerland in their Group A encounter.

Hilary Knight scored twice in the opening period as the US took a 5-0 lead and Kelly Pannek has also scored twice.

  16. WATCH: China beat Japan in shootout

Here is the action from the Wukesong Sports Centre earlier as China edged Japan in a dramatic penalty shootout to edge closer to securing qualification.

  17. A 'gold medal was the plan'

    Women's moguls

    Jakara Anthony

Australia's Jakara Anthony has been chatting about winning gold in the women's moguls: "It was really incredible. I really feel like it was my best run on the course and I'm so proud that I was able to let myself ski like that.

"It's a real mental game to let yourself do what you are capable of, and I really feel I was able to achieve that, which is something really special and something I've been working really hard to be able to do.

"Gold medal was the plan, so I'd say it went according to plan. It was pretty tough to try not to get too far ahead of yourself. You have to constantly bring yourself back to the moment and just try to take things one step at a time, which is easier said than done.

"It's such an honour to represent Australia here in Beijing and to be taking home a gold medal I really couldn't have asked for anything more. I'm just really proud."

    Men's singles luge

It's gold for Germany's Johannes Ludwig in the men's singles luge, finishing 0.160 seconds ahead of Austrian Wolfgang Kindl after the fourth run.

Italian Dominik Fischnaller took bronze, nearly a second behind Ludwig.

Ludwig was a bronze medallist himself four years ago in Pyeongchang.

Britain's Rupert Staudinger just missed out on qualifying for the final run and finished 23rd overall.
