    Mixed doubles curling

There's some frantic maths going on to try and work out who is through and who is out in the curling.

It could be good news for GB, but don't quote me on it...

  2. Canada force extra endpublished at 13:52 Greenwich Mean Time 6 February 2022

    Mixed doubles curling

What a comeback from Canada. They were 7-0 down against Australia but have brought it back to 8-8 for force an extra end.

Canada are currently just above GB in second place remember.

Elsewhere Italy have been in impressive form so far and their unbeaten run continued with a 12-8 victory over Sweden, while Switzerland edged the USA 6-5.

It's still in our hands as long as we beat the United States tomorrow.

They played so well today, they didn't have a bad game. There were just a few non-clear shots.

I'm confident that if they play well tomorrow, they can definitely beat the USA.

As the weeks going on, all the teams are performing better and that makes it exciting to watch.

    And indeed it is.

Jen Dodds and Bruce Mouat shake hands with Kristen Skaslien and Magnus Nedregotten.

They did not play badly here it was just those fine margins.

GB now need to beat USA tomorrow to be certain of a place in the semi-finals.

At the start of the week Norway were really struggling but they've now really come into the game.

    They're making GB work.

It is just two, but still that is now an imposing 6-2 lead for Norway.

Some magic needed from Jen Dodds and Bruce Mouat now.

Mixed doubles curling - Nor 4-2 GB

Hmm, is this curtains for GB?

A fine shot from Kristen Skaslien with her last stone puts Norway on for at least two, with the measure out to see if it's three.

  9. Staudinger's luge attempt endspublished at 13:26 Greenwich Mean Time 6 February 2022

    Men's luge

    Anna Thompson
    BBC Sport in Beijing

Briton's sole luger at these Games, Rupert Staudinger, has finished his campaign in 23rd position - which is an improvement of 10 places from four years ago in Pyeongchang and he can be rightfully proud of his efforts in Beijing.

He said afterwards: "It was good, I finished on a high. I think today was my best run of the whole competition, so I'm really pleased with that."

But he misses out on a fourth run, with only the top 20 racing in reverse order.

It's incredibly tight between Germany's Johannes Ludwig and Austria's Wolfgang Kindl for the gold medal - with just 0.113 of a second between the pair.

GB coaches (and silver medallists from 2014) Dave Murdoch and Greg Drummond are furiously scribbling in front of me on their notebooks.

Wonder what they're jotting down. It's going to take a special effort from their team to salvage this match.

Mixed doubles curling - Nor 4-2 GB

GB pull one back but it could, and perhaps should, have been better.

They were already sat on one but Jen Dodds' final stone lacked the power to make it beyond a Norway red and double that score.

Still, at 2-4 GB are still in this going into the seventh end.

  12. WATCH: Makayla Gerken Schofield finishes eighthpublished at 13:11 Greenwich Mean Time 6 February 2022

She could not quite make the final six, but it was still a mighty fine effort from 22-year-old Makayla Gerken Schofield to finish eighth in the moguls final.

That's a great response from Kristen Skaslien, Norway's final stone nudges the yellow and lands on right top of the tee.

Jen Dodds goes on the attack with her final stone, but it cannot prevent another steal from Norway.

    They now lead 4-1.

GB were 4-1 down against China at the halfway mark earlier and rallied to win.

Hopefully another chat in the break with coaches Dave Murdoch and Greg Drummond will get them going.

Absolutely smashed it. Pressure what pressure.

Jakara Anthony may have just missed out on the podium in Pyeongchang four years ago but that was brilliant.

Meanwhile it's another steal for Australia - they now lead Canada 7-0!

This final six is warming up nicely...

Olivia Giaccio is up first and records a 75.61, now the reigning champ takes over. It's a 77.36 for Perrine Laffont.

    Will that be enough? No.

Russian Anastasiia Smirnova knocks her off top spot with a 77.72.

    What a final!

Ryoyu Kobayashi of Japan takes home the gold, with a an almighty combined score of 275 points.

The 25-year could not be beaten, as he finished five points clear of Austria's Manuel Fettner and Dawid Kubacki of Poland, in bronze medal place.
