Mixed doubles curling - Nor 3-1 GB

There's a sole yellow GB in the house as Norway prepare their final stone.

Do they go for the hit and roll? No, they play it safe, though only just as it very nearly creeps beyond the yellow stone.

Norway extend their lead at the halfway stage.

Leaders Italy have fought back and are now level at 2-2 against Sweden, while Switzerland lead the USA 3-2.

It's a tight match, with both teams playing some tight shots.

It's what we expected before this match started, with this game potentially going all the way.

That was a big play there by Jenn Dodds. You could see how much Bruce Mouat appreciated it as he went over. Back slaps all round.

    A momentum shift?

  6. Gerken Schofield misses out on final sixpublished at 12:41 Greenwich Mean Time 6 February 2022

    Women's moguls

Reigning world and Olympic champion Perrine Laffont is through. Team GB's Makayla Gerken Schofield's hopes are hanging by a thread.

Anri Kawamura is next up. She nails it. Gerken Schofield cannot advance.

And Jakara Anthony pushes her down to eighth with an 81.29, the best score on that run.

    Brilliant from Jen Dodds.

There was little margin for error there but her final stone escapes through a gap and nudges another yellow right onto the tee.

    GB are off the mark.

Team GB will know they've played this game well and have set themselves up to have two big chances.

They just need to refocus, they're playing well.

This is compelling stuff. Is Team GB's Makayla Gerken Schofield make the last six?

Olivia Giaccio has pushed her down to fourth with three skiers to go.

American Kai Owens has a bit of a nightmare on her run ending up with a score of 65.49 and Canada's Sofiane Gagnon has a DNF next to her name.

That's a couple of final stones that have just been on the short side for Jen Dodds and Bruce Mouat.

As we've seen, teams can easily pick up three or four in a single end so no need to panic, but they can't afford to let Norway get too far ahead.

A lot of good shots so far. This will come down to who will make the key shots at the right time.

    Ooh, frustration for GB.

Jen Dodds looks to nudge two stones in scoring positions but it does not quite have enough legs. It is another steal for Norway.

It's been quite the day for Australia so far.

After thinking they were being sent home because of a positive Covid test, they were given a reprieve and went on to beat Switzerland for their first victory of the competition.

But can it get even better? They currently lead second-placed Canada 3-0 after the first end.

Meanwhile Switzerland are beating USA 3-0, and fourth-placed Sweden lead leaders Italy 2-0.

Slovenia's Peter Prevc finished 6.2 points behind Kobayashi, on 139.2 and Poland's Kmail Stoch in third place on 136.3.

That's a good shot from Kristen Skaslien with Norway's final stone of this first end - they are one for two here.

Jen Dodds responds well. Her final stone does enough to take one of those away but does not have enough on it to take out the second.

    Norway off the mark.

The standard has shifted up a notch since Anri Kawamura's run.

Olympic champ Perrine Laffont registers a 79.86, with US Duo Jaelin Kauf (79.32) and Olivia Giaccio (78.37) not far behind.

Woooaaahhh Jakara Anthony moves top with 81.91. Superb from the Australian.

All these scores will be scrubbed but talk about laying down a marker. Team GB's Makayla Gerken Schofield qualifies ninth. She'll have go up another notch if she is to reach the third part of this final, which will contain the top six.
