Potential trouble too for Canadian Max Parrot, who remains tied eighth after his second run.

Japan's Hiroaki Kunitake steps up, marking the halfway point of these second attempts... It's looking good but he drops short on the final drop!

The form Tiarn Collins' has been in the last few months - I thought he could have taken that.

I can't believe the calibre of rider we're talking about losing.

Not enough from New Zealander Tiarn Collins and Marcus Kleveland is STILL clinging on to that 12th spot after Dutchman Niek van der Velden finishes adrift of the mark.

  4. Sadowski-Synnott wins slopestyle goldpublished at 06:13 Greenwich Mean Time 6 February 2022

If you watch one thing this morning, it should probably be this.

Absolutely incredible from Zoi Sadowski-Synnott, landing a back 1080 on the final run of the women's slopestyle final before being swamped by her competitors as she claimed New Zealand's first Winter Olympic gold.

That was a glimpse of what you could expect from Mons in the final - but I might have oversold it slightly, because he is right in the middle of the bubble.

Oh that was so close and he knows it. That was painful to watch. Rene is one of those riders that epitomises snowboarding.

He didn't need a 16 here, he could have gone for 14.

Finland's Rene Rinnekangas can't improve on his 67.10, leaving him precariously placed in 11th spot.

Mons Roisland, in seventh, drops next... He also stays on his first run score, but should be safe.

Here's how GB's Jen Dodds and Bruce Mouat maintained their semi-final hopes with an impressive comeback victory over China.

The judges are playing scrooge with scores today.

I am concerned that they have given themselves too tight a margin - they have backed themselves in a corner with scores between 60 and 70.

Japan's Kaito Hamada gives himself an outside chance of qualification with a 67.45.

Marcus Kleveland's 64.86 is the current mark... And it still is after Germany's Noah Vicktor can only manage a 62.56 run.

Morning early birds! There's plenty to take in if you're just joining us on day two of the Winter Olympics.

    Here's what you've missed:

Are we really going to be waving good-bye to one of the best slopestyle riders?

This is vintage Marcus Kleveland and he has given the judges something to think about.

We've seen how much emphasis is made on execution. There's too many talented riders.

Oh that's probably not going to be enough for Marcus Kleveland either.

The 2021 slopestyle world champion moves into 11th spot with a 64.86. He knows he's fallen short there.

Mark McMorris invented the backside triple trick. That is going to put him one set closer to a silver or a gold.

I am actually a bit gutted for Dusty Henricksen. You just know that it's gone.

As a commentator and a spectator you get robbed of that spectacle. He is one of the most entertaining riders.

    Men's slopestyle qualifying

This really is beginning to heat up now, but that will not be enough for Dusty Henricksen. A 58.46 leaves him 12th, the final qualification spot.

Mark McMorris, in 11th, goes next... And the two-time medallist has to be pleased with that. The Canadian all but seals a final spot with a 83.30.

It's looking like scores upwards of 70 will be required for top 12 here.

I've arrived at the cross-country course with Team GB's Andrew Musgrave set to compete in the men's 30km skiathlon in little over an hour's time.

It's a lovely day here, and slightly warmer than it has been too! My phone is telling me it is -9C, which is positively tropical compared to recent days.

We have 28 riders to go and most of them need a score so it is going to be a very anxious wait for Seb Toutant.

There was enough there. Clean up the mistakes on that and it is a podium run.

Sebastien Toutant is the first to make amends for his first run. It was far from perfect, but the Canadian puts himself in a great position with a 71.06 for fifth position.

Right then, here we go for round two in the men's slopestyle qualifying.

No improvement for Red Gerard to start things off, but the American is in a comfortable position, in third, following a solid opening run.
