Curling mixed doubles: GB 5-4 China

China are well-placed in this seventh end, but can they convert?

Zhi Ling misses as he attempts to catapult GB's guard into their red in front of the button.

What can Jen Dodds do with this? Another guard is placed down the centre. One to go for China...

It's tense alright. A few errors creeping in from both sides in this penultimate end. Who will hold their nerve?

  3. What’s all the fuss with the 15-year-old?published at 02:28 Greenwich Mean Time 6 February 2022

    Figure skating

    Sonia Oxley
    BBC Sport in Beijing

Aged just 15, Kamila Valieva arrived at these Olympics as the hot favourite for gold in the women's figure skating... so what is all the fuss about?

Basically, she's a skating record machine!

Since making her senior debut last year the Russian has set world record scores several times for her programs (including on her debut).

She does quad jumps for fun - that's quadruple rotations, the hardest you can do and very rare in women's figure skating. And she does them consistently.

That said, her planned program for today in the team event only features triples as no quads are allowed yet in the women's short program.

    Men's downhill

    Anna Thompson
    BBC Sport in Beijing

The windy conditions at the Yanqing National Alpine Centre means there is a delay of at least an hour for the men's downhill. It was due to start at 0300 GMT but won't now get under way until at least 0400 GMT. The jury will meet to decide if the race can go ahead today.

The US ski team have tweeted video of the gusty conditions, with one of their racers, Bryce Bennett, set to be first out of the start gate.

Bruce is not happy with that shot at all. He had to catch that right on the nose.

    Women's slopestyle final

Kokomo Murase can't make an impression with her second run either. A big performance required on her final outing.

Here comes Zoi Sadowski-Synnott now. The two-time world champion is under pressure following that brilliant run from Julia Marino...

Oh no! She has her hands on her head after taking a tumble. It's all down to the last one for her too.

Get ready for a dramatic finale folks!

That was not a good stone from Fan. A power-play for China results in a steal for Great Britain - big turnaround in this match.

That's not great from SuYuan Fan who gets the weight of her stone all wrong - and it means GB will claim the steal to move ahead after six ends.

From 4-1 down to 5-4 up in a huge game. Great stuff from Jen Dodds and Bruce Mouat. How are the nerves?

    Women's slopestyle final

    Ed Leigh

Julia Marino measured her landing perfectly. Having not won a major even in over two years, she is in gold medal position half way through the runs.

    Big big run!

  10. Marino takes the leadpublished at 02:18 Greenwich Mean Time 6 February 2022

    Women's slopestyle final

    That's HUGE from Julia Marino!

A whopping run, rewarded with a score of 87.68, is enough to displace Zoi Sadowski-Synnott at the top of the standings.

It's shaping up to be some finale...

Zhi Ling rolls in a heavy one to knock GB's central stone out, but it also takes out China's yellow to leave GB with two in the house.

Bruce Mouat sweeps in a guard ahead of China's final two shots.

They work so well together. Jennifer is so relaxed - she smiles even on a good shot or bad shot, and that is so important.

They're steppng up a fraction, and they need to do that in the second half of this game.

A few more mistakes creeping in from China.

The GB pair can sense an opportunity and call a time-out to give this a proper look over with three stones to play.

    Women's slopestyle final

Into the second runs now in the women's slopestyle final.

An improvement from Japan's Reira Iwabuchi moves the 20-year-old into the bronze medal position.

Over to American Hailey Langland now... A 48.35 is an improvement but it's well off the pace.

That was a crucial end. Had China eked out a greater advantage it might have been hard to come back from for GB.

China's form has dipped a little in this end and it's a big chance for GB to reduce the deficit.

Bruce Mouat lines up the penultimate stone, tapping China's only yellow out of the house.

There's a chance for a good score here for GB as China prepare their final shot.
