    Women's big air qualification

    Here comes Kirsty Muir.

At 17, she is the youngest member of the British team.

But she is also one of its best prospects for a medal and has been described as a “once in a generation athlete” by fellow Scot and former Olympic snowboarder Lesley McKenna.

Muir earned a silver and bronze at the 2019 Junior World Championships, followed by a silver medal in big air at the 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games.

What we didnt say about Katie is that she has a really solid score under her belt to build on. She has got herself in a really good position.

The one thing Katie Summerhayes has in her locker is her consistency.

If there were tigers chasing her down the run-in she still would have done that trick.

Down to the business end of the fourth end between GB and USA.

The Ice Cube is mostly a quiet place (players shouting 'Curl!' and 'Hard! aside), but there is always a nice cheer and applause when China produce something.

They've just taken three in their match against the Czech Republic and the place lifted. It'll be a shame to lose that in the play-off stage.

There is a decent crowd in Shougang and there are huge cheers when China’s Eileen Gu appears at the top of the start ramp. The standard is very high early on and she scores 89.0 to the delight of the fans.

    Women's big air qualification

A whopping 90.50 from France's Tess Ledeux has set the pace in the women's big air qualification.

China's Eileen Gu is up next... It's good! It's very good... but she's just short of taking the lead. A 89.00 certainly isn't a bad start, though.

Eileen Gu makes her first appearance at a Winter Olympics and will compete in big air, slopestyle and halfpipe.

She is China’s poster girl after switching from the USA, where she was born, to represent her mother’s homeland.

She will be a big favourite for a medal here.

Qualification consists of three jumps with the best two scores added together. The top 12 go through to the final.

James Woods has won X Games titles but an Olympic medal has alluded him so far. Can he get his hands on one at the third attempt?

Kirsty Muir is only 17 but she’s won Youth Olympic medals and been on a World Cup podium already in her fledgling career.

And Katie Summerhayes has battled back from numerous knee reconstructions to be at her third Games.
