It's the battle of the caps here. Bruce Mouat wearing his lucky headgear, alongside American Christopher Plys who also loves a hat.

Mouat reckons the Twitter account for his cap has more followers than his own. Madness.

That was the danger - Chris Plys tried to get a little bit of an angle.

Not a good start by the USA.

Too much on that one from Christopher Plys, though.

He misses his target, leaving two GB yellows in the house with one stone remaining for each team in this second end.

Jen Dodds releases GB's final one, attempting to leave another guard but there's a gap for the USA to exploit here...

Christopher Plys responds by removing one, and taking another GB yellow out of the house. Good shot.

Everything in China is done on a huge scale and the big air is housed at a former power station and steelworks. You can see all the massive disused industrial relics as you travel to Shougang, in western Beijing.

This is the first purpose built big air ramp and venue - with the ramp measuring 60 metres high.

Britain's James Woods, Kirsty Muir and Katie Summerhayes will be in action as freeskiing's big air events get under way at the Winter Olympics for the first time.

The women's event starts at 01:30 GMT, with the men's getting under way from 05:30.

The skiers will head down a massive ramp, before performing tricks during the few seconds of air time they generate at the end.

Three for Great Britain and a steal in the first end. What a way to get this match underway.

If there were any nerves this morning, that will give them a chance to relax.

There must be a little bit of thinking about tonight and who GB are going to play.

They'll go back to the village, keep themselves calm and figure out their game-plan for tonight, depending in who they play.

Christopher Plys tries to clear GB out but leaves three yellows in there.

Jen Dodds rolls in GB's final stone of the first end, leaving it almost perfectly at the front of the house to offer protection.

A good start for GB - but how many will they get here?

The stones at the back are acting as protection for the GB stone.

It can't be pushed out the back because there will be connection with some of the reds.

Great opportunity for us to put one on top of the stone US have played.

    Women's giant slalom

Mikaela Shiffrin tops the billing in the first women's alpine event - the giant slalom.

The American leads the overall World Cup standings and is ranked no lower than fifth in any event.

She is a genuine medal threat in five different events in Beijing, and won giant slalom gold in 2018.

Alex Tilley will represent Team GB in this event, which gets under way from 01:30 GMT.

Curling mixed doubles: USA v GB (01:05 GMT)

Jen Dodds and Bruce Mouat are through despite their 6-2 loss against Norway in their second game on Sunday.

Though the pair missed the chance to seal their own place, defeats for Sweden and Canada put them through to the next stage anyway due to GB's superior head-to-head record.

So it all means this final group match against the USA will only determine their final placing.

Curling mixed doubles: USA v GB (01:05 GMT)

    Thomas Duncan

It's a brutal schedule for Jen Dodds and Bruce Mouat.

Having had the low of losing to Norway last night, followed by the high of finding out they'd reached the semi-finals anyway late on, to trying to turn in a performance early doors again.

They're already through, so this match against the USA will determine who they face in the last four later.

Canada v Italy is the other match to keep an eye on. The Canadians need a win to qualify, otherwise Sweden will nab the final spot.
