Katie Falkingham has some fairly serious weather news for us. The question is, how much snow is too much snow when you need snow to compete on?

Curling round-up
There are three other matches going on the Ice Cube this morning. The US were getting hammered 7-1 but have picked up a three in the sixth end to give themselves a sniff...
Norway are 3-1 up on Sweden while Italy and the ROC are having a right old battle - both teams have twice picked up threes and they are locked at 6-6 in the seventh end.

After a red-eye flight across the Atlantic, Kaillie Humphries' Olympic dream was riding on a series of history and geography questions.
"Who was the American president in World War One?", "Name one of the longest rivers in the United States" and "Name a state that borders Mexico".
With less than 10 weeks to go before Beijing 2022, the Canadian-born double Olympic bobsleigh champion was fit and at the top of her sport - but without an American passport, she was not going to compete in China.
She had quit the Canadian national team three years ago after making allegations of abuse and harassment against a coach, and had since been competing for her American husband's homeland.
One day she finally got the email she had been waiting for inviting her for her citizenship interview and test in San Diego - but getting there was not going to be straightforward from 5,000 miles away in Europe.
Read what happened here.

With all the athletes having raced, Kaillie Humphries is still leading the way. Germany's Laura Nolte has put in a good run to stand 0.3 seconds behind her.
Elana Meyers Taylor is in joint third, which suggests she is finding a bit more speed compared to her post-isolation training runs. She's sharing that spot with Canada's Christine de Bruin, 0.68 behind Humphries.
The next run is at 03:00 so we'll be back for that.

A third straight blank end. GB have only scored in one end, but it was that spectacular four and it's making the difference right now.

A couple of smashing take-outs by Grant Hardie helps the British boys wrestle back control of a seventh end that was threatening to go China's way.
Skip Bruce Mouat then manages to remove the final Chinese stone to blank a third straight end.

"Oh no, a shame for Alex Schmidt.
"Remarkably he’s the first faller. I thought we might have lost a few more by now bearing in mind the difficult visibility.
"That’s it for him today."
Germany's Schmidt can pack the skis up. If you fall on run one there's no run two. Marco Odermatt of Switzerland still leads the pack but we've not yet had 15 of the 89 entrants. Odermatt started skiing at the age of two. I'm not sure I could stand up at that point.
USA 1-7 Canada
Canada are having a field day against the US on the curling rink. They lead 7-1 after five ends.
Defeat would leave the USA with two wins from five matches. They are the defending champions. Yikes.

A slack shot from Bobby Lammie might have given China an in here. Lammie just missed his takeout and the Chinese are lying one with a guard too.
Grant Hardie opens things up again for GB, who crucially have the hammer.

Benjamin Alexander's story tells of a life well lived.
Born in Northamptonshire, the engineering graduate had a short-lived career in finance before becoming a globe-trotting DJ. He's lived around the world, from the United States to Asia.
But today, he becomes Jamaica's first Alpine skier at the Winter Olympics in the giant slalom, just six years after first trying the sport.
Men's giant slalom
A reminder there will be two runs in this giant slalom and times are added together to determine a winner.
I make it 89 athletes in the field and our very own Katie Falkingham has the inside track on one of the more quirky stories...
Men's giant slalom
Switzerland's Marco Odermatt (pictured) starts well in these tricky giant slalom conditions.
Run one is done in 1:02.93. Norway's Henrik Kristofferson is another fancy and he's third in 1:03.05.
I love this Kristofferson quote: “I want to do my own thing and not what everyone else does. Moderation is for cowards.”
He has already one bronze and silver at the Olympics in the last eight years. Can he complete the set?

Another blank. Great Britain were trying to set up a big-scoring end but China got wind of that ruse early enough to play a big take-out.
The last half dozen stones are played with a simple formality, with Bruce Mouat playing the final stone, chipping the Chinese stone away and making sure his own also leaves the house bare.

Another blank end incoming. GB just looking to keep the hammer into the seventh end.

Everyone will be battling against the elements until the weather lifts.
They’re not liking these conditions at all. It’s hard.
And it looks like the snowfall is intensifying. It's coming thick and fast.

The GB coaching staff and alternate Ross Whyte are handing round a certain luxury brand of chocolates.
A quick sugar hit to see them through the second half of this match.
Not jealous at all.
The fifth ended scoreless after GB opted to blank it and keep the last-stone advantage for the sixth end.
You may have noticed BBC One has switched from curling to the Giant Slalom.
The ski-cam shows visibility isn't great as the snow falls hard so expect a few tricky runs out there.
And don't worry, we're all over the GB men in curling so you'll be kept fully up to speed.
The medal table
The Germany team are topping things at the moment. Great Britain back on zero. It feels a little like Eurovision at the moment doesn't it?
Look away now if you're patriotic. I'm posting the medal table next.
