Women's curling semi-final: Sweden 5-4 Great Britain (after four ends)

    Excellent revelation from Jackie Lockhart!

Turns out Hailey Duff's dad might not be watching his daughter's big Olympic semi-final - because he's currently playing a Lanarkshire seniors match.

If Papa Duff is out on the sheet in Hamilton then he might be following with us! Cheeky glimpses at his smartphone between throws and sweeps...

We tried really hard, we just needed to get a better freeze on one of the corner stones and actually Anna Hasselborg could have made an error when she went to try and nick one of Eve's but she hit it on the nose. She had to sit two stones to stop use from getting a multiple there.

Our girls are still digging in here.

Keep forcing one and get a two when you have the hammer and they'll be fine. Simple, eh?

Swedish skip Anna Hasselborg throws down a stone like she's auditioning for Kingpin, leaving the door open for Britain to grab the one.

Eve Muirhead glides down into the gap and that'll have to do.

"Needs to curl. Really needs to curl, Jen," says Eve Muirhead.

    Sounds a little concerned.

The penultimate British stone pitches up just in front of a Swedish red.

Anna Hasselborg fires down her first stone - Sweden's penultimate one - pushing out a British yellow.

She's smiling as she bounds down the sheet. That tells us she's happy with that effort.

Swedish stones lie either side of the house.

"Right on the nose," says Jen Dodds. That's what Eve Muirhead will be trying to do...

Sweden's Sarah McManus sends her final stone down the middle, but it doesn't curl enough to skittle a British stone.

Vicki Wright follows the same line and sits her stone on top of McManus' effort.

Hmmm. Two stones apiece in the house. Difficult to say who the angles favour.

    Down to the skips...

The cat and mouse continues. Like peak Tom and Jerry this one.

Britain's Jen Dodds whacks a Swedish stone on the nose as she tries to draw one into the middle.

Britain not on top at the halfway stage of this crucial end.

It has been an underwhelming start to Mica McNeill and Montell Douglas' campaign.

They finished 19th out of 20 runners, 1.15 seconds off German leader Laura Nolte and Deborah Levi.

Mariama Jamanka and Alexandra Burghardt of Germany and the American pair of Elana Meyers Taylor and Sylvia Hoffman were second and third fastest.

Work to do. But the good news is there is plenty of time to do it.

The second set of heats are at 13:30 GMT.

Another defensive end from Sweden there. They could have played to go for two but they decided they want to try and keep this lead and we said that right at the beginning its too long of a game for her to play that defensive game.

It's favouring Britain right now, they are definitely on the upward move here.

Women's curling semi-final: Sweden 5-3 Great Britain (after three ends)

Swedish skip Anna Hasselborg draws in her final stone to take one. Could have been much, much worse for the British team.

Slightly defensive from the Swedes but it extends their lead.

However, Britain have the hammer in the fourth end and going on the front foot could see them chip off that deficit...

    Well, well, well.

Britain look to be facing an uphill task in the third end but another error from Swedish skip Anna Hasselborg lets her opponents off the hook.

Two British stones remain in the house as Hasselborg prepares to deliver her final effort...

Imagine if curling, like the figure skating, was played to music.

Stones being thrown to the Stones?

Hammers being held as MC Hammer booms out?

"You can't touch this stone, Muirhead!"

Great sledging potential. Obviously the curlers are far too polite for that behaviour.

    Any other music suggestions?

    Two-woman bobsleigh - heats

The blue British bobsleigh wobbles and bobbles down the track. A bit of a slow start and they struggle to pick up time on the way down. There are last but one in the standings, ahead of just the Swiss pair of Martina Fontanive and Irina Strebel.

It's only the heats though. And if the curlers have taught us anything it is to not stop believing...

Never mind Dancing on Ice. The proper stuff is where the real entertainment is. Bez would be shivering watching how the Olympians do it.

The short programme of the figure skating pairs is back under way at the Capital Indoor Stadium.

Ten of the 19 pairs have danced with American pair Alexa Knierim and Brandon Frazier - who went second - still leading.

Incidentally they have danced to the best song, too. IMO, of course. The Animals' House of the Rising Sun. Class.
