Five runners have come down the chute so far and the best has been Germany's Laura Nolte, world bronze medallist, more than 0.6 seconds faster than compatriot Kim Kalicki in second.

    Women's semi-final: Sweden 0-0 Great Britain

Nothing is won or lost in the first couple of ends, Steve Cram reminds us. Good job for Team GB.

Sweden have a stone in the red stone, with two others providing a strong layer of protection in the outer ring.

The Sweden team are are good friends, a couple of them live together. The second and the skip, Agnes Knockhenauer and Anna Hasselborg, are very close.

Sara McManus, who plays third, is a sensational player and is a real strength for them. So I think GB have to match player for player.

Most of us think Anna Hasselborg has not been playing as well as she can and has historically.

She did have a little bit of time away and has perhaps come back not absolutely at the top of her game, and that's why Sweden almost found themselves in a tricky situation like Great Britain did.

So I think it is all to play for here.

Britain in the yellow corner, Sweden in the red. That's guaranteed to confuse me, at least.

Sweden have the hammer, meaning they have the last stone of the opening end.

    So Britain are throwing first...

Here we go! The two teams stroll out to the rink, lining up alongside each other while their names and achievements are read out.

Only the Champions League Anthem blaring out of the speakers could make this any more exciting.

Fist-bumps along the line and then it's down to the serious business...

Mica McNeill and Montell Douglas will be 18th to go in a 20-strong field.

The class of the field comes a little higher up with Germany's Mariama Jamanka, the defending champion from Pyeongchang, ninth on the list.

Look out for her compatriot Kim Kalicki who has finished second in the last two world championships and American monobob champion Kaillie Humphries, who races alongside Kaysha Love.

Two runs today as heats, two tomorrow for medals.

Eve Muirhead's GB side won 8-2 against Sweden in the round-robin last week, but it was a strangely out of sorts performance from the defending champions.

They've won five in a row now and are looking more like the team that won gold in 2018. Another tension-filled evening in store.

The nation also has Mica McNeill and Montell Douglas going in the women's bobsleigh very shortly.

Eve Muirhead had a great game against Sweden in the round robin, they really dominated that game and that will be worrying the Swedes.

Also it's a positive side for Eve that she just needs to draw on that win they had, they played so well they just need to come out and do that again, they know they can do it.

Great Britain have beaten Sweden the last three meetings so you could say the vibes are very good, but Sweden are the defending champions.

I think the good thing for Eve Muirhead and her team is that they are the underdogs going into this match. So if they can play as well as they did against the Russian Olympic Committee yesterday, perhaps even find their best match of the tournament, then they have every chance of going through to the final.

    Women's curling semi-final: Sweden v Great Britain (12.05 GMT)

    Steve Cram
    Curling commentator on BBC TV

Great Britain and Sweden are the only two countries that have managed to get their teams into all three semi-finals.

Sweden beat us for a medal in the mixed doubles, while GB's men will be playing Sweden in the final and we are playing Sweden here in the women's semi-final.

So you could say Great Britain and Sweden are going to finish top of the curling table whatever happens in terms of medals.

    Women's curling semi-finals - Great Britain v Sweden (12:05 GMT)

Of course, Great Britain is already guaranteed a medal in the men's curling.

That's because Bruce Mouat and the lads beat defending Olympic men's curling champions United States 8-4 in yesterday's semi-finals.

Victory booked a place in the final against Sweden in Beijing.

Can their female counterparts also secure a medal in today's semi-final?

This is going to be a really interesting semi-final.

Eve Muirhead has won the last three games they have played against Sweden. I hope that will give the girls the added boost they need.

They’ve also got to take the confidence from winning the round robin match against Sweden.

They’ve got to believe they are the better team and have a presence.

Great Britain's women's curlers squeezed into the semi-finals with a strong 9-4 win against the Russian Olympic Committee yesterday

Eve Muirhead, Vicky Wright, Jen Dodds and Hailey Duff took their record to five wins and four losses to progress on the Draw Shot Challenge tie-breaker.

But they needed Sweden's help to get into the last four.

The Swedes - the defending champions - ultimately ensured Britain would progress as they beat South Korea long after the other three matches had finished, to eliminate their opponents

So that means the British team now face Sweden in the last four at 12:05 GMT.

So we want to hear from you! Where are you watching from? What have you put to one side to focus on the match? The food shopping, tax returns, mate's wedding, etc.

Have the kids (or big kids) built a homemade curling rink after being inspired by Eve Muirhead and the team? Photos please.
