Two wonderful shots from both of these skips.

GB are not out of the game at all, they are still playing so well.

They need to keep putting the pressure on Sweden but Niklas Edin and his team, they’re bringing their A game to this final for sure.

Gold-medal match: Great Britain 1-3 Sweden (after three ends)

Oh my. Bruce Mouat watches as his stone lack just a joule or two of energy. It kisses the red stone on the button, but kicks back further than it pushes.

Sweden are closer to the bullseye in the final count-up.

A steal of one. Sweden on top.

  5. Mouat & Edin with superb shotspublished at 07:39 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February 2022

Gold-medal match: Great Britain 1-2 Sweden (after two ends)

Oh, Bruce Mouat! Splitting the atom is child's play compared to this double plant he pulls off, sending a Swedish stone to the boards through a supermodel skinny gap.

But Niklas Edin is just as inspired! A superb response from Sweden to leave them lying two...

    Mouat with the final stone.

Sweden are playing very well already.

Great Britain will have to be careful they match them at the very least.

Gold-medal match: Great Britain 1-2 Sweden (after two ends)

Niklas Edin watches his stone on its way. Has he left that a little short? His team-mates are scrubbing like salty seadogs.

But it is a little low on legs.

Bruce Mouat is weighing up a risky double clear-out. I think he has decided against that one. Third end is maybe not the time to get too ambitious...

It never ceases to astonish me how quickly cross-country skiers can ski uphill. They make it look so easy, yet I'm sure their lungs are burning and their legs are on fire.

Me? I'd be going so slow I'd be sliding backwards. Or collapsed in a heap on the side of the course.

No Sonia, nerves are fraying, shredding, being minced over here. And it is only the third end.

A lovely final stone from Swedish second Oskar Eriksson lands right on the button.

I’m accidentally wincing every time these skaters go by - high speeds, sharp knife-like blades, arms flying, frantic attempts to overtake…

Is it any less nerve-shredding at the curling?!

Caroline Bishop: Never saw myself as someone who would get up early on a Saturday to watch curling, and yet here I am.

Dee Brookes: Alarm did its job, getting me up to watch our men curling for gold. Good luck Team Bruce, it's been a wonderful couple of weeks.

Katy Swan: Dogs aren’t as excited as we are to be up with the sun on Saturday. But how could we not! Never been one for Olympics and sports, but these curlers have me a changed woman! Go on yersel lads!

    Men's 30km mass start

    Katie Falkingham
    BBC Sport in Zhangjiakou

We're one lap (7.1km) down in the cross-country mass start and it's the Norwegians who are leading the way at the moment, occupying all three medal positions. Among them is Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo, who is racing for his FIFTH medal of the Beijing Olympics.

Team GB's Andrew Musgrave is currently in 30th, 13 seconds behind.

    Three laps to go.

Two for Sweden. They take the lead in the Olympic final.

That will settle their nerves but Britain won't worry too much.

Of course they would have loved to get their two in the first end but they have the hammer in the next end.

  16. Speed skating mass start explainedpublished at 07:21 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February 2022

    Speed skating - men's mass start semi-finals

    Sonia Oxley
    BBC Sport in Beijing

There are 15 skaters in each of these semi-finals, with the top eight from each progressing to the final.

The first lap is a warm-up, where you can't overtake the designated lead skater. The winner of the first semi-final will be the lead skater in the final.

It gets a little bit complicated with intermediate sprints held after four, eight and 12 laps, with points awarded in each sprint (five for finishing first, three for second, one for third).

But this only affects the ranking of skaters finishing fourth or lower because there are way more points are awarded for ending the race in the top three (60 points for first, 40 for second, 20 for third).

So, crossing in first, second and third guarantees those respective final positions.

After the first lap, lapped competitors must withdraw immediately.

Bruce Mouat attempting an ambitiously double take-out. He needs it to be powerful enough to get across the circle after hitting the first Swedish stone but accurate enough to ensure it rebounds on the right trajectory.

It is a very difficult shot.

    And it doesn't come off.

The red stone freezes in no man's land and is easily picked off by Sweden with the final stone of the end.

    Two points for Sweden.

  18. Musgrave in touch with frontpublished at 07:18 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February 2022

    Men's 30km mass start

We have three Norwegian and three Russian skiers up at the front of the race, with the Russian Olympic Committee's 30km skiathlon champion Alexander Bolshunov among those sticking tight to the leaders.

GB's Andrew Musgrave is around seven seconds back at six kilometres.

The field has still not spread out much yet, with the top 40 all within 12 seconds of the lead.

  19. GB looking vulnerable in second endpublished at 07:17 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February 2022

Gold-medal match: Great Britain 1-0 Sweden (after one end)

Bruce Mouat has work to do on this second end though.

His first stone is not quite tucked behind the guard. It is vulnerable to a Swedish take-out...

  20. 'Mouat thrives on big pressure shots'published at 07:15 Greenwich Mean Time 19 February 2022

Gold-medal match: Great Britain 1-0 Sweden (after one end)

    Rhona Howie
Olympic gold medallist curler on BBC TV

This GB team support each other so well, they know each other so well.

If there is a bad shot they bin it and they move on, there’s no issues.

Bruce is so good at leading the team, he is very calm under pressure, he thrives on these big pressure shots.
