Alastair Seeley has lost out to Stuart Easton in the battle for the British Supersport title at Brands Hatch.

Carrickfergus rider Seeley closed the gap to four points on Easton after finishing second in Saturday's sprint.

It all came down to the season's final race on Sunday and Easton was leading when the race was red-flagged, with Seeley back in third.

Scotsman Easton, riding for Northern Ireland team Martrain Racing, won the series by 13 points from Seeley.

Easton could only manage an 11th-placed finish in Saturday's sprint race, meaning that both riders were guaranteed the title if they won the final race feature.

Easton was 0.322 seconds ahead of Seeley when the race was red-flagged, with sprint winner Richard Cooper finishing second.

Glenn Irwin, also from Carrickfergus, was seventh in the sprint before coming in fifth on Sunday.
