    Women's kayak singles final

    Sir Matthew Pinsent
Four-time Olympic rowing champion on BBC TV

Tokyo was Kimberley Woods' low-point for a number of reasons, but she has been amazingly open and honest about her mental health since then.

She has seemingly turned a corner and proved positive today. The Olympics only comes round once every four years and she has fixed on this final and said: 'This is my goal'.

They were all in tears in the end - it is an emotional rollercoaster - so a massive well done to Kim.

Five years ago, Australian striker Michelle Heyman retired from international football with a little more than a whimper.

Now she is playing at the Olympics, a feat being called one of the greatest comebacks in Australian sport.

After a record-breaking performance in the domestic football league this season, where she became the first A-League Women (ALW) player to ever surpass 100 goals, Heyman caught the eye of a Matildas coach desperate to fill the hole left by an injured Sam Kerr.

But not only is Heyman back in the squad, she is being seen as Australia’s best shot at finding the net in France.

The Matildas are back in action this evening, taking on Zambia in Group B.

Abe Hifumi has retained his Olympic title!

Absolute brilliance. He catches the sleeve, Willian Lima didn't attack out of it this time, and Abe wins his second Olympic gold medal.

The crowd absolutely loved that performance. They appreciate absolute brilliance.

How classical is that - the bowing and the respect for his opponent - he is now soaking it in!

The USA are running away with it here and at the end of the third quarter they lead Serbia by 19 points.

LeBron James now has 18 points and seven assists - not bad, ey?

It's going to have to be a big final quarter from the Serbs if they are to mount a comeback.

Luck Rock's side lost 21-12 to Great Britain on their Olympic debut earlier on, but will fancy their chances of overcoming South Africa, who were walloped 34-5 by world champions Australia.

    Richard Winton
    BBC Scotland at Roland Garros

Right, is this going to be it?

It feels like I've spent most of my adult life watching Andy Murray haranguing himself, his team and the world on tennis courts around the globe but this could well be the last time.

The double Olympic gold medallist and Team GB partner Dan Evans are about to take to the court against Taro Daniel and Kei Nishikori of Japan. Lose, and the great man's career is over.

Win, and he gets another hurl at it in the second round of the men's doubles.

Just bear in mind that Evans has already played singles today and Murray is made of tin, spit and guts.

Without that 50-second penalty, Ricarda Funk would have still gone behind Kimberley Woods!

What a way to start for Woods! She is like a different paddler. She has paddled brilliantly and upped her game throughout, run-on-run.

I felt really confident coming out of the heats for her. All of the work they have been doing has all come together and it is very well deserved.

You can see how much Kimberley Woods has grown! Her little mistake didn't even bother her and she just kept going and going!

Up until her one little mistake, she was flying. Where we really saw her class was that perfect spin in gate seven and the power she got off that move.

She was a second quicker than her semi-final, so she has really built during this competition, run-on-run.

You can see the excitement on her face!
