Five time Olympic gold medal track and road cyclist on BBC TV

The second ride from Team GB was brilliant, it was the fastest a British team has ever gone. You can't ask for more than that really.

For the bronze medal against Italy, I think they are the favourites going into that ride.

She has achieved her childhood dream, but could she be on the verge of Olympic history?

Already a world champion and now an Olympic gold medallist aged just 21, Emma Finucane still has two further opportunities in Paris to add to her women's team sprint gold.

If she does so, she would become the first British woman to achieve that feat at one Games.

Finucane anchored the Team GB team that beat New Zealand in Monday's sprint final in a world record time.

A tough day for the Brits at Golf National.

Tommy Fleetwood secured a brilliant silver for Team GB in the men’s golf but both British women are way off the pace in the first round of their competition.

Charley Hull really struggled finishing on nine-over par and declined to do any broadcast interviews afterwards. Georgia Hall had a solid start but is now three-over par after 17 holes.

Home favourite Celine Boutier leads on four under par.

More from Lewis Richardson speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live about his bronze medal: "[It was] ever so close. Three-two split decision. Of the six Great British boxers, five of us lost on a 3-2 split decision and the other one was 4-1 split decision. Every one of the losses have been extremely close. Boxing is such a subjective sport - you have a scoring criteria but sometimes there is a preference of what the judges wants to see. You would have to say we have been unfortunate with certain decisions.

"More importantly, the boxers can look back and be proud of the performances. I'm certainly proud of my three bouts and although the others dipped out in the first rounds, they can be extremely proud of their performances.

"This has been the best year of my life so long may it continue. Where I'm at right now is my dream. It wasn't always boxing - it was just the Olympics. I'm so proud to represent Team GB.

"It has been an amazing experience."

Team GB's Lewis Richardson spoke to BBC Radio 5 Live after winning a bronze medal last night: "A great bout last night. It is always a difficult dynamic in boxing because you win your quarter-final to secure a bronze medal.

"You have the euphoria of knowing you have secured a medal but then you have to regroup, go again in the semi-finals to try and get a place in the final to fight for silver or gold.

"Unfortunately it didn't go my way last night so it was initial disappointment from the result but also in hindsight I achieved a massive dream to win an Olympic medal. I earned that bronze medal, it certainly wasn't given."

All four quarter-finals are taking place today at Bercy Arena and two have already concluded.

Australia and Belgium are through to the last four after victories against Serbia and Spain respectively.

Belgium finished seventh when making their debut at Tokyo 2020 but have already far surpassed that achievement after a 79-66 win against 2016 silver medallists Spain.

Victory in the last four secures a spot in the gold medal match with the two losers in the semi-finals going on to compete for bronze.

What a difficult start for Mickey Beckett. We just heard that he just got penalised for moving the rudder too much in that pre-start to hold that position.

It is very light winds, it is hard to manouvre. They are not even hiking out, they are not at full power.
