Rahm bogeys again - Fleetwood ties for leadpublished at 15:01 British Summer Time 4 August

    Rahm, Fleetwood -18 (12)

    Jonathan Jurejko
BBC Sport at Le Golf National

Can you believe it? Jon Rahm was coasting along. Now he's been reined in by Tommy Fleetwood!

Rahm edgily approaches the 12th and can't save par as he makes back-to-back bogeys.

Fleetwood sees a golden chance (maybe literally) - and seizes it.

Another birdie for the Brit - that's four in the last five holes - and it is tied at the top.

Japan's Hideki Matsuyma remains in bronze on 17 under with Rory McIlroy, playing of Ireland, now one behind him on 16 under after ANOTHER birdie.

This game of snakes and ladders is fun.

What a shame for Becky Downie!

She was in the flow and it was going so well. The build-up to this: the effort, the work, the comeback - it was all packed in to that minute of gymnastics.

Becky, we salute you for being there - we really do! Total respect. She is an inspiration.

Nooooo! That is so unlucky for Becky Downie. What a shame.

This routine is packed full of difficulty and she slips off the bar on the move named after her.

She re-straps her hand-guard and gets back on the bar.

She's safely through the rest of the routine and manages a big smile at the end. But she will be gutted with that. 13.633 is the score.

Downie went for full risk, but on this occasion there will likely be no medal reward.

Downie falls in women's bars finalpublished at 14:59 British Summer Time 4 August

Agony for Becky Downie. She misses the bar after performing a difficult release, and falls to the mat.

She gives a wry smile. Her comeback has been so inspirational, and she went all out with the difficulty on that routine which she had to do, in order to get on the podium.

Her dismount is perfect and she finishes the routine well but that's such a shame for Downie. She scores 13.633.

Alcaraz was a little disconsolate at not taking all those break points.

When you don’t take your opportunities against the top players, you will pay.

I just sense now there will be a big push from Carlos to get the early break

    Shooting - Women's skeet final

After the first round of shooting in Team GB's Amber Rutter is joint leader alongside Francisca Crovetto Chadid of Chile after hitting 19 of 10 targets.

Danka Bartekova of Slovakia is the first to be eliminated, courtesy of having the highest bib number after finishing on a tie of 17 shots.

You can sense Carlos Alcaraz is starting to get a bit frustrated here. He has his opportunities in that first set and then completely lost his radar in the tie-break.

I thought he started off the more nervous of the two, as well. Novak Djokovic has been at his belligerent best and it’s just thrown Alcaraz slightly.

    *Djokovic 7-6 (7-3) 0-1 Alcaraz - gold medal match

That didn't look great for Novak Djokovic, who has an awkward slip on the baseline.

But it doesn't seem to have impacted him too much. The Serb claws his way back from 40-0 down to deuce.

A bit of a back and forth tussle before Carlos Alcaraz gets the job done.

    Women's uneven bars final

    Matt Baker
    Gymnastics commentator on BBC TV

Becky Downie of Great Britain will be fourth up here.

It is going to be very close this final, but Becky does have a routine that can challenge for those medals. She even upped the difficulty in the semi-final but she just needs to remain as calm as possible.

She needs to keep her consistency, get through it, and we could see a Great British medal here...

D'Amato impresses after Zhang's fallpublished at 14:52 British Summer Time 4 August

    Women's uneven bars final

Disappointment for 16-year-old Yihan Zhang, who is up first. The Chinese gymnast starts nicely before missing the bar after a release and lands on her stomach, and then stumbles in her dismount. She is understandably upset, scoring 12.800.

Alice D'Amato of Italy follows, and puts together a lovely composed routine. Her score of 14.733 is the one to beat so far.

That first set took one hour and 34 minutes.

I’m not surprised Novak Djokovic has nipped off for a comfort break. I’d do the same.

Carlos Alcaraz, meanwhile, had his towel draped over his face before looking over to his box for some reassurance.

Eight break points saved, being made to run laps around the court to fend off Carlos Alcaraz.

Djokovic 7-6 (7-3) Alcaraz - gold medal match

What a return from Novak Djokovic, coming forward to attack the second serve from Carlos Alcaraz and drilling it cross-court, just clipping the line for a winner.

That's the first mini break for the Serb top seed... and he goes on to win it in fine style.

He brings up three set points but needs only one, coming to the net and stunning a blistering Alcaraz forehand with a drop-volley.

What a shot, what a set. What a match we've got - and we might be just a third of the way through...
