    There are eight matches today in the men's football Olympics competition and play has just started in the Argentina v Morocco and Uzbekistan v Spain games.

    Group A: Guinea v New Zealand (16:00 BST, Nice), France v United States (20:00, Marseille)

    Group B: Argentina v Morocco (14:00, Saint Etienne), Iraq v Ukraine (18:00, Lyon)

    We're moments away from the first fixtures getting under way in the football.

    It's a double-header in the men's event with Argentina facing Morocco in Group B and Uzbekistan meeting Spain in Group C.

    The national anthems have been belted out and the games will begin at 14:00 BST.

    Team GB have finalised their squad for the Games with 327 athletes set to take part, external across 24 different sports.

    They won 64 medals in Tokyo and data experts Nielsen Gracenote currently predict a total of 62 in Paris.

    Athletes have been on their way to Paris from all corners of the globe for the past week or so.

    The first group of Team GB athletes made the short trip across the Channel on 15 July.

    Below you can see members of the boxing and archery teams getting a send big send-off as they boarded Eurostar's Golden Train at St Pancras International Station.

    The Paris Olympics will be live across BBC TV, radio and online.

    Paris is one hour ahead of the UK and the majority of the action will take place from 08:00 BST to 23:00 BST each day, although some events such as the marathons, race walks and triathlons are starting slightly earlier.

    You can watch all the big moments live on two BBC channels as well as on BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website and app.

    Ready for 19 days of elite sporting action?

    Well, you've come to the right place as we get our 2024 Paris Olympics coverage under way today.

    It's technically not the start of the Games (that comes on Friday with the opening ceremony) with today known as day -2, when we're going to be across the football and rugby sevens.

    We've got matches beginning at 14:00 BST with the last one kicking off at 20:30 BST.
