Sky Brown is using different hands to grab the board, so maybe there will be times where she will let go of a trick or two, possibly replace them in order to not use that [injured] arm.

It has been all about this for so long that she will be wanting to get here and use the adrenaline to do what she can to be in the mix for a medal.

Is there a minimum age at the Olympics?published at 16:30 British Summer Time 6 August

    Skateboarding - women's park final

The average age of this final is 16 and a half, skewed somewhat by the mature presence of 23-year-old Dora Varella in the field. The youngest is Finland's Heili Sirvio at 13.

After 11-year-old Zheng Haohao participated in the prelims, is it possible to be too young to compete at the Olympics?

According to Olympic guidance, there is no specific age limit - it depends on the rules laid down by each international sports federation.

First on the schedule tonight is women’s team pursuit qualifying, and Great Britain’s task is to regain the title they lost in Tokyo.

GB won gold in this event in London and Rio, but took silver three years ago in Tokyo behind Germany.

Riding for GB today are Elinor Barker, Josie Knight, Anna Morris and Jess Roberts. Three of those four won World Championship gold last year.

But they are without taliswoman Katie Archibald, who suffered a freak injury on her garden steps in the lead-up to the Games.

There are 10 teams in qualifying, GB will go ninth. The eight fastest teams will qualify for the first round, where they are seeded based on time.

Sky Brown may be the biggest ticket for British audiences but the Japanese duo of Kokona Hiraki and Hinano Kusaki will be tough to stop.

Hiraki took silver in Tokyo and was comfortably the best in the prelims with 88.07.

And don't discount Australia's Arisa Trew who fell twice in the prelims but came through in sixth.

She won headlines as the first female skater to land a 900 (two-and-a-half rotations) in May and is ranked second in the world.

This is probably the best moment in my life, in my entire life since I arrived in Paris. We came on the same train, I managed to book myself on the Team GB train to be with Andrea. We arrived together, I was in the village with her, went to her room, and have seen her compete.

We have had an amazing time, an amazing time. As we say in French, 'La vie est belle.' And life is going to carry on. It has been an amazing adventure. Shame we don't have a medal today but we have lovely memories, and that is the most important.

We saw Sky Brown in Budapest at the last qualifier and she wasn't at full fitness there. She was still managing that knee ligament injury, and she still came second by a few points. That was her not at 100%.

That just shows that the amplitude she has. The difficulty level is still there, and if she can just squeeze an extra bit out of it then it is looking good for Sky.

Despite what you may have been taught in school, I can inform you the hottest place on Earth is actually this velodrome.

It’s outrageously warm in here - 27C to be specific, with zero air flow once the doors are closed.

But it’s that way for a reason. The heat reduces the air density, and therefore the drag on the riders, allowing them to go faster.

My little portable fan may well be the best money I’ve ever spent.

Can Brown better her bronze from Tokyo?published at 16:17 British Summer Time 6 August

    Skateboarding - women's park final (16:30 BST)

Earlier on Tuesday, Team GB's Sky Brown moved smoothly into this afternoon's final, finishing fourth overall in the prelims with a score of 84.75.

Worryingly, her third run ended prematurely with a crash on the left shoulder she dislocated shortly before the Olympics.

Hopefully, she will be suffering no ill effects as she bids to match or surpass the bronze medal she won at Tokyo three years ago.

We are disappointed, she [Andrea] is disappointed, I am disappointed, but you know, this is sport. I said to you before the competition started that this is brutal and this is what happens. Unfortunately it wasn't her day.

She didn't dive like she can do, like she did yesterday. It was an off day, she was tired from yesterday. No excuses, it is just the way it is.

It is what it is. She has had a super year. She is diving well. She made a couple of errors and she got overtaken and she couldn't claw back the deficit.

But I am proud of my little girl. She has come here, she has come to Paris in the Olympics and she has got a medal.

    Good afternoon from the velodrome.

We had an incredible night here yesterday as Katy Marchant, Sophie Capewell and Emma Finucane kick-started the British medal charge with that historic team sprint gold.

Tonight, it's the turn of the men. Jack Carlin, Ed Lowe and Hamish Turnbull qualified second fastest last night and will be hoping to keep that speed up through their races over the next few hours.

    Bring it on.
