Sixth place for Spendolini-Sirieixpublished at 15:07 British Summer Time 6 August

    Women's 10m platform final

It's sixth for Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix. She'll be disappointed but she has come away from the Games with a medal and a place in the individual final, so despite the tears and emotion, it's a performance to be very proud of for 19 years of age.

It just didn't click for her today in terms of her entries into the water, with those deductions costing her.

But, she ends her competition with a cracking dive to show the crowd what she is truly capable of when she is at her best.

    • Team GB fail to add to their equestrian medal haul with Ben Maher and Scott Brash coming up short and Germany's Christian Kukuk winning gold.

    • Britons Laura Muir and Georgia Bell qualify for the women's 1500m semi-finals, while Victoria Ohuruogu makes it into the women's 400m semis.

    And here's what's coming up:

    • Team GB's Micky Beckett is in sailing medal contention when the men’s ILCA 7 (dinghy) race gets under way, however the event (originally 14:43 BST) has been delayed due to low winds.

Quan Hongchan and Chen Yuxi have provided a masterclass this afternoon. It's sensational.

Two more dives with barely a blemish and barely a splash. Quan leads with 344 points, Chen has 339.10.

North Korea's Rae Kim Mi clings on to bronze with 296.90 with one dive to go.

It's an over rotation from Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix, it just isn't going her way this afternoon. Her semi-final performance was to be celebrated, much, much higher than today. It's a bit static on all of her dives, she will be disappointed with that one as well.

It hasn't been Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix's afternoon, things just haven't gone quite right for her. She over-rotates on her fourth dive and scores 60.20.

She'll be gutted considering how impressive her semi-final efforts were. She's had a brilliant Games but it is now very unlikely that she will medal in this event.

  10. Swim session cancelled for fifth time over pollutionpublished at 14:45 British Summer Time 6 August

Paris 2024 organisers cancelled training for open water swimming on Tuesday because of pollution in the River Seine.

It is the fifth time the water quality has forced a swim familiarisation session to be cancelled during these Games, while the men's triathlon also had to be put back a day.

The latest cancellation comes a day after triathlon's mixed team relay was held.

All the triathlon swim legs have taken place in the Seine, which is also set to be used for marathon swimming.

China's diving throughout this Games has just been phenomenal and it's been no different today.

Chen Yuxi keeps the pressure on her team-mate Quan Hongchan but they are pulling away together. Just 1.6 points separate them at the top.

North Korea's Rae Kim Mi is in third, and Spendolini-Sirieix has slipped down to joint-sixth.

It's great from Andrea but not as sharp as we saw in the semi-finals yesterday where she absolutely buried her entry, she just can't keep her splash down. I feel for her, it's not going her way and it's tough when it keeps happening.

Dinghy medal races postponedpublished at 14:31 British Summer Time 6 August

    Men’s and women's dinghy

The men's and women's dinghy medal races have been delayed because of lack of wind in Marseille.

The women's race was scheduled to start at 13:43 BST, with the men's at 14:43.

When the men's race does start Great Britain’s two-time World Championship medallist Micky Beckett is in contention for a spot on the podium after finishing fourth at the end of the qualifying series.

However, he is a long way adrift of Australia's Matthew Wearn, who looks nailed on to retain gold and become Australia’s first ever single-handed sailor to defend an Olympic crown.

London 2012 silver medallist Pavlos Kontides is second, while Peru’s three-time Olympian Stefano Peschiera lies in third.

Quan Hongchan, who was only 14 when she won gold in Tokyo three years ago, is putting on a masterclass.

Meanwhile, Fred Sirieix's feet are tapping and shaking the desk. He said earlier he wasn't nervous.
