    The same, but very different.

The home of tennis is France is about to get some roughing up as the boxing finals roll into north west Paris.

The metro on the way over was more like the line to Dublin as the Irish fans travel in their numbers to try and cheer on Kellie Harrington to a second gold.

There are also plenty of Algerian flags in support of Imane Khelif, and a good few supports in the house for Lewis Richardson too ahead of their semi-finals.

The roof is closed and this should be a cracking night of boxing.

Bonus points if you can spot everyone's favourite Olympic mascot. I wonder if he fancies a go in the ring.

Josh Kerr knew that Cole Hocker was there but he just didn't have any more tonight.

Perhaps Jakob Ingebrigtsen's nerve just cracked a little bit and he perhaps did not run the best race for him.

Hocker ran the absolute perfect race for him and so did Yared Nuguse in coming through to grab that bronze medal at the end.

'My plan was to win'published at 20:12 British Summer Time 6 August

    Athletics - men's 1500m final

Norway's Jakob Ingebrigtsen speaking to BBC TV after missing out on a medal in the men's 1500m final: "My plan was to win. Didn't go according to plan but I felt very strong in the first couple of laps and that's why I had difficulty telling the pace because it was quite fast. It was difficult to slow down and kind of reduce myself a little bit. I was starting to get a little bit of gap so kept on pushing but it was just 100m too long today.

"The guys behind me, finishing in front of me did a great race. It's not always easy to spend your energy wisely but I felt strong and of course not the result I wanted."

On the last 200m: "It depends because in the 1500m, the pace is so strong in the whole race. Especially with me opening so strong, you can't really tell when you're hitting the wall when you hit it. It was just a little bit too early today."

Jakob Ingebrigtsen’s hubris got the better of him, thinking he could dominate the race from the front and just run away from everyone in the last 200m. Glad to see him off the podium altogether.

Ingebrigtsen gave that to Hocker. He was so bothered about Kerr, he moved over and gave the inside lane. If Hocker had to go round them, it would've been a different result. Well done to Josh Kerr though, can't complain about silver and an NR.

If you look at the replay at 150 metres to go Jakob Ingebrigtsen took the decision to move wide to push Josh Kerr out, so Josh would have to run further. But that opened the door for Cole Hocker.

Even at the Olympic record speed that they were racing at, you still need to make sure you use tactics to maintain your position in the race.

    Women's football semi-finals - Brazil v Spain

Two-time silver medallists Brazil, will also be looking for a measure of revenge when they play their sixth Olympic semi-final in Marseille against Spain this evening.

Brazil have already knocked out the hosts despite the absence of their suspended captain and all-time leading scorer Marta.

And the 38-year-old six-time Olympian will also miss the semi-finals after she was handed a two-match ban following a red card for a dangerous challenge on Spain's Olga Carmona in their group-stage defeat.

"Everything we have gone through has taught us valuable lessons and helped us improve," Brazil defender Tamires said.

"The team is getting a stronger and stronger mentally."

Josh Kerr looks a pretty happy man as he goes across to his coaches to celebrate.

It might not have been gold but it is silver and a new national record of 3:27.79 seconds - the fastest time he has ever run.

Just look how tight it was between Kerr and Yared Nuguse for that silver medal.

It's judged on who gets their chest over the line first and, as you can see above, Kerr just beats the American to it!

    Maz Farookhi
Commentator on BBC Radio 5 Live

Marta is such an important player for this Brazil side but at 38 years old she is coming to the end of her international career.

She said this will be her last major tournament. Unavailable for this semi-final tonight, perhaps we have seen the last of one of the greatest players of her generation.

Given the talent and the names that this Spanish side have you expect that they will have too much for Brazil.

Spain, who are competing at their first Games, are aiming to extend their trophy haul after winning last year's World Cup, as well as the Uefa Nations League,

"We know what we're capable of, we don't feel any pressure," said Spain goalkeeper Cata Coll.

"What defines us is that we are ambitious. That's what drives us on to go as far as possible."

The Spanish survived a scare to knock out Colombia on penalties after trailing by two goals in their quarter-final, but given they can call upon the likes of reigning Ballon d'Or winner Aitana Bonmati and Alexia Putellas, they will fancy their chance against a Brazil side they defeated 2-0 in their group meeting.

Jakob Ingebrigtsen is shaking his head. I'm sure he will say in many, many interviews that he was the pacemaker, but this is what happens at championships. There is no pacemaker, you have to do it yourself. He has no other way of running.

He had to make it hard and take the sprint out of everyone else, but unfortunately for him everyone else knows that and has trained for it. They know he can be defeated.

Josh Kerr did his best but in trying to go with Jakob Ingebrigtsen, Ingebrigtsen tried to run away from Kerr and the two of them tried to destroy each other.
