The stadium is absolutely rammed this evening.

It has been packed throughout both morning and evening sessions, but I can barely see a single empty seat as I look around the Stade de France.

The atmosphere, as always here, is electric.

    But this is something else!

France have their first athletics medal as Cyrena Samba-Mayela takes silver in the women's 100m hurdles, slumping to the floor under the weight of the overwhelming emotion.

The crowd erupt. What. A Noise!

There’s a lot of tape, a rough surface masking tape over the holes on the track because you can splinters otherwise, and that’s not ideal. That’s dangerous for crashes and for tyres so they’re always fastidious at repairing the little nicks and scratches caused by bike crashes.

"After all the interviews that you have and all things you have to say, I think that's one moment of peace where you get your own thoughts and be able to fully realise that this is the moment. This is what I've done. This isn't a dream and this is how far I've come.”
