    Taekwondo - men's +80kg semi-finals

Caden Cunningham looks undaunted by his decorated opponent, but Cisse is an Olympic champion for a reason - he scores first in round two.

This round is played at a slower tempo, so slow in fact both men are penalised a point for a lack of attacks.

Cisse then scores with a shot to the trunk - he leads 6-1 with 30 seconds remaining. But Cunningham thinks he has a head shot for three points! It is not given by the officials, so the coach challenges...

    Taekwondo - men's +80kg semi-finals

A really strong start by Caden Cunningham, who finds a good strike to the trunk of Cheick Cisse. The Ivorian is the number one see, but this has been a solid defensive display by the Brit, with attacks where he finds space.

Another strike to the chest... then to the head! Cisse claps back, but Cunningham leads 9-4 into the final seconds.

Cisse tries a big spin kick for big points, but Cunningham scores on the counter.

Round one ends 11-6 to Cunningham. A great start!

It’s so special because Noah’s dived next to Tom Daley so is always in his shadow. It is about Noah and it is such a special moment. He nearly got a silver medal – that’s how amazing he’s done today. He’s been so cool and calm.

Don’t get me wrong, getting into the semi-finals, he gave nearly me a heart attack but that was so good to watch.

A fierce foe for GB's Cunninghampublished at 15:40 British Summer Time 10 August

    Taekwondo - men's +80kg semi-finals

We are returning to the glamourous Grand Palais for some more taekwondo now, where Caden Cunningham is fighting in the semi-finals of the men's +80kg. Win this bout, and he is guaranteed a medal.

Cunningham's opponent is Cheick Sallah Cisse of Ivory Coast. Olympics buffs may remember Cisse as the man who beat Britain’s Lutalo Muhammad in the final seconds of the under-80kg final at Rio 2016.

Cisse then lost in the opening round at Tokyo 2020, so he went home, trained hard and switched to the heavier weight category.

The 30-year-old is also a reigning world and Grand Prix champion, so is a fierce opponent for the Brit. Can Cunningham stop Cisse's bid for a second Olympic gold? We shall soon see...
