Launceston boss Jimmy Tucker says there has been a "massive improvement" after they narrowly missed out on their second positive result of the season.

The Cornish All Blacks lost 11-8 at Dorking, with the home side kicking a late penalty to secure the win.

The defeat was the club's 19th in 20 games, keeping them 28 points adrift at the bottom of National Two South.

Fred Bulet's try gave the club a 5-3 first-half lead, while Sam Chapman's 73rd-minute penalty made it 8-8.

The club have yet to win a game all season, with their only positive result coming in a draw with Southend in November.

"It really looked for all the world like this was going to be the first win," Tucker told BBC Radio Cornwall.

"We're massively improved from last week, totally unrecognisable. Last week was doom and gloom and you think 'where can we go from here?'

"But the response this week has been absolutely excellent and the boys are up as much as they can be having been robbed so closely of that victory.

"There's a bit more belief now, and we've got two home games, I don't want to make bold statements, but it's going to happen soon."
