Cornish Pirates have signed Bristol lock Charlie Rice on a short-term loan.

The 21-year-old, who played in four of Bristol's Premiership Rugby Cup matches, has yet to make a league appearance for the Bears.

The former England Under-20 second row comes in after injuries to four of Pirates locks.

"The response by Bristol to loan Charlie to us at this present time is very much appreciated," said Cornish Pirates coach Louis Tonkin.

"A talented and physical young forward who has played a good amount of senior rugby, we are delighted to welcome him on board."
