There are about four players from both sides getting treatment in this break of play with a few others limping.

This derby is taking a toll!

Ben Thomas shows strength as he trucks it up, straight into Ioan Lloyd.

But Josh Macleod comes up with a massive turnover for Scarlets who clear their lines.

Ioan Lloyd did brilliantly then, there was nothing on.

One missed tackle and he's through and that's what Gareth Davies does well, always there for an easy try.

Scarlets coming back into the game, the forwards carrying well and they'll be impressed how they've responded after a poor start to the second half.

For the second season in a row, Gareth Davies has two tries at the Arms Park.

Sam Lousi's basketball pass releases Ioan Lloyd, who ducks a tackle before sending the Wales scrum-half clear to score.

Easy finish - but Lloyd nearly makes a hash of the conversion from in front of the posts, as the ball hits a post and goes over. How did he manage to hit the woodwork from there?!

I have no idea what Henry Thomas did to his jersey but the prop is now wearing number 28 on his back.

Cardiff's forwards seem to be edging the power game.

Their backs are not quite clicking - Scarlets' backs are edging that part of this game.

But Cardiff have the edge up front.

Referee Craig Evans is really having a word with both front row here before this scrum.

    He's not happy about something.

Terrible start to the second half from Scarlets giving Cardiff an opportunity.

A couple of poor kicks and not the start Dwayne Peel would have wanted.

Mason Grady is just not getting enough of the ball for Cardiff.

He showed how dangerous he can be as he bashes off a defender and Cardiff win a penalty that they kick to the corner.

    Their tails are up.

Yes Dan, Dwayne Peel will really have had to gee them up at half-time after that late, late try.

It's been a very good game and Scarlets will be a bit disappointed being down at half-time having been the better team.

They'd put Ellis Bevan and Tinus de Beer under lots of pressure, if they keep in the game in this second half it's all to play for.

I liked how Scarlets responded after Harri Millard's first try but to concede just before half time was a big psychological blow.

They need to keep doing what they've been doing in the second half.

Scarlets have come here with a bit of confidence and attacked really well. The centre partnership of Eddie James and Johnny Williams has gone well, Ioan Lloyd has been pulling the strings and getting the ball wide.

The Cardiff three-quarters have been struggling to get the ball to the edge and have just managed to in the 49th minute or whatever it was with Harri Millard getting a run in.

Scarlets have probably attacked better but the Cardiff lineout is starting to work and the driving maul is getting into the game.

With all the internationals on show, you might have had long odds on Harri Millard being the most influential player in the first half of this Welsh derby, but the Cardiff wing has been in the thick of the action.

Millard has scored two tries but also pulled off a brilliant try-saving tackle on Scarlets number eight Taine Plumtree.

His first-half contribution might prove telling in a cagey Welsh derby. We shall have to wait and see.

Cardiff head coach Matt Sherratt says if injured duo Josh Adams and Taulupe Faletau do not play for his side this month he does not expect them to be involved in Wales' November internationals.

Number eight Faletau, 33, and wing Adams, 29, missed Wales' summer tour of Australia and are yet to feature for Cardiff in the opening three games of the United Rugby Championship this season.

"If they don't make the end of this fixture block, they're not going to be medically fit to play [for Wales], I would say," said Sherratt.

"It would be a big call for two players who haven't played that long to go back into an international autumn series."

Cardiff have two more games left in this block of URC games after today, which Adams and Faletau will not be involved in.

Sherratt's side travel to face Edinburgh seven days later before the final game against Ulster on 26 October in Cardiff.

Wales head coach Warren Gatland is scheduled to name his squad on 21 October for the campaign in which they face Fiji in their opener on Sunday, 10 November.

Cardiff finally cracked Scarlets on the outside.

Scarlets had scuppered them so many times trying to get to the edge and Cardiff finally get the ball in front of the player for Harri Millard to run onto.

It was all set up by the driving lineout which has really got them back into this game.

That was such an important last few minutes for Scarlets and had they kept out Cardiff then it would have given them a lot of confidence into half-time.

But Cardiff kept the ball really well, keeping the pressure on Scarlets and they'll be very happy to finish the half in the lead and with all the confidence.

    I spoke too soon!

Cardiff keep their patience until the space opens up.

Ben Thomas gives a pop pass to Dan Thomas, then Cam Winnett releases Millard with a huge pass and the wing beats the defence racing across to score in the left corner.

Sheedy's conversion attempt is just wide.
