    Brave call by Cardiff.

They have a penalty as time ticks past 40 minutes but De Beer sends it into the corner.

I would have taken the points in such a close game.

The script has been thrown away in this game at the moment.

It looked like Taine Plumtree was in but Harri Millard came in like a jack in the box to make the tackle. It came after the most scrappy bit of play, where even the referee was getting annoyed with the players!

  3. Replacement: Cardiffpublished at 39 mins

    Cardiff 7-11 Scarlets

Tinus de Beer is replaced by Callum Sheedy.

I think he really felt that tackle by Johnny Williams!

  4. Try-saving tacklepublished at 38 mins

    Cardiff 7-11 Scarlets

Harri Millard has just pulls off a stunning stop on Taine Plumtree just yards from the line.

Eddie James' quick hands released Blair Murray and his inside pass to Plumtree looked to be a try-scoring one.

But somehow Millard scampers across from his left wing to stop Plumtree dead in his tracks.

The number eight may be twice the size but Millard was having none of it!

Cardiff win a penalty at the breakdown and they celebrate as if they'd scored.

It's a good old ding-dong derby at the moment.

Johnny Williams floors Tinus de Beer in midfield.

He and Eddie James don't half form one bruising centre partnership.

They're like two bouncers stood at a nightclub door!

Ioan Lloyd did brilliantly twice there making a lot of metres. The forwards came into the game with the pick and go putting Cardiff under pressure.

In the end it's Gareth Davies who gets the try after starting it all off.

    Gareth Davies

The scrum-half proves why he is one of the best try-poachers around and dives over from close range for his 53rd league try.

Ioan Lloyd made the initial burst before Marnus van der Merwe took about four Cardiff defenders with him to touching distance of the line.

    Then Davies did the rest.

He has a knack of scoring here after grabbing two last season.

Lloyd misses the conversion from out wide but Scarlets are back in front.

But if there is one area Scarlets are dominating it's the scrum.

They've just won anther penalty - much to the chagrin of the home crowd.

Teddy Williams has had an impressive start to the season.

The Cardiff lock would probably have gone on the summer tour with Wales had he not been injured.

But he has started the campaign with bang and is putting himself around again today, carrying hard.

Ben Thomas is an exciting player and if Cardiff can keep the ball and momentum then he'll be an exciting player to watch.

Once you're running at a defence who are on the back foot, there are all sorts of passes where he can pick off defences.

  12. Replacement: Cardiffpublished at 25 mins

    Cardiff 7-6 Scarlets

Hooker Efan Daniel makes way after a bruising opening and youngster Dafydd Hughes is on.

Big game now for Hughes in a hot atmosphere.

You do worry about Daniel who has struggled with injuries recently.

Finally Cardiff have broken into a bit of life. They got the offload away by Dan Thomas which made a try that was fantastic.

Scarlets were racing back but they couldn't track all the players. With the game turning into a stalemate of mistakes, with Scarlets looking the better attacking team, Cardiff have just sparked something.

The wing scorches over after a one-two with Dan Thomas.

I was just about to say how well Scarlets had managed this 10-minute period down to 14 men, but before the Cardiff flanker breaks through and now the hosts lead.

Scarlets' defence are spooking Cardiff pretty well, getting up in Cardiff's faces.

Cardiff's lineout is struggling a bit as well, they're getting no flow in that area.

There's a few cogs missing in the home side's game at the minute.

Ooh if Ben Thomas had just looked on his right shoulder after making half a break, he had Ellis Bevan waiting to race clear.

And that was after he ignored a four on two overlap in the middle of the pitch.

It's funny that when those melees start, every player seems to single out their opposite man.

Dan Davis just ran straight for Dan Thomas even though he was barely involved!

I like Gareth Davies, he's a feisty player. You can see that bit of an edge on him.

He had a bit of a sketchy start having been charged down early on. A little bit of afters with Ellis Bevan which always keeps the game lively.

Wales scrum-half rivals Ellis Bevan and Gareth Davies spark a shoving match and now everyone is in! Mostly pushing and shoving.
