And there is Ireland's response. Emphatic.

The number eight picks up from the back of a scrum, charges to the blindside and Carys Cox has too much space to cover.

Wales flanker Kate Williams was a little slow breaking from the scrum and was just too late to stop the try.

Hannah Bluck is such a good impact player.

We've seen her come off the bench and score tries throughout the Celtic Challenge this season.

You can see through her celebrations how much it meant to her, especially as this is her first involvement in the campaign.

Ireland make six changes... yes six!

You want impact from your bench and it doesn't get much better than that. Hannah's got fresh legs and she backed herself. It's a long way back but stranger things have happened. What can they do with this momentum?

Hannak Bluck try, Keira Bevan con

Wow. She has literally just come onto the pitch and the replacement centre scores with her first touch!

She was only included on the bench today because of Kayleigh Powell's late withdrawal.

Bwhat a way to make an impact as she carves her way through with a well-angled run.

Lleucu George strokes a wonderful kick into the corner with that oh-so-casual style of hers.

It's as if she's over the park with her mates.

The Welsh players are celebrating any decision or minor victory they get... but it feels a little hollow.

Ireland are just keeping it simple and it's really working for them. There's great composure from the forward pack.

Linda Djougang try, Dannah O'Brien con

The prop is over for her second. It was coming... it was just a matter of who would get it.

With 25 minutes still to go here at Rodney Parade, this could get ugly.

Well, they just managed to hold Ireland's driving lineout up over the line.

    But the relief is temporary.

It's going to be very hard for Wales to sustain this level of pressure.

    Wales 7-26 Ireland

This is becoming a tackle-practice session for Wales as Ireland just hit them with wave after wave of attack.

    They're on the ropes.

Jenni Scoble has had a tough day today. She was penalised at the scrum for that last try and has just been pinged again at the breakdown. Donna Rose takes over at tight-head.

Jaz Joyce and Lisa Neuman combined nicely but just as Wales think they have half a chance, Ireland number eight Aoife Wafer shoves red jerseys off the ball and wins the turnover.

    Wales 7-26 Ireland

Yes that try was all about the sheer dominance of the Irish pack.

They earned a penalty from the scrum, kicked to the corner and then collectively powered their way over.

Wales - who are really missing prop Sisilia Tuipulotu this campaign - looked utterly powerless to stop them and that's a big worry.

Sean Lynn must be looking at changes up front.

It's a brilliant start for Ireland. They put pressure on with that reliable set piece.

    Dorothy Wall

Ireland get their lineout drive rumbling and second-row Wall gets her second.

    That's the bonus.

So we're hearing that Dannah O'Brien's yellow card will NOT be upgraded to a red so Ireland's fly-half will be back on the pitch in a few minutes.
